This tournament has lost pretty much all it's interest and I am pretty sure that most of the players on that list won't even participate.

u mad?

Aside from the GSL this will presumably have one of the largest prize pools out there (especially outside of Korea) so that is a very weak argument. And HD released a vid about a week ago where he confirmed that the players were ready to go. Lets say they would have waited until now to announce the tournament - why would the players don't participate? As for the interest, you can't say a tournament has lost it when it hasn't even started yet... As long as the tournament is done in a timely fashion (once it starts) and with regular casting, people will watch. I think you underestimate the HD and Husky youtube fan base.

You know I think it would be awesome if they had a side tournment to compete for a spot in the HDH2. Give some random players a shot at getting there names out =D. Reach out to the community even more? Too bad this is time consuming but would be fun none the less.

HDH2 interests me a billion times more than GSL. What do I care about 80 korean players I have hardly ever heard of? I only watched it for Idra, TLO and Cella.

It's not their fault, as stated in the OP. Please give suggestions if you think they should scrap it, or stop posting utter shit.

I for one am really pumped to see IdrA, tester and cool smash people.

Yeah. Ideally this would have been most successful at the end of August or beginning of September, before the GSL started.

But now I'm worried about how seriously any of the players now in Korea would take this. The ogs, TL, and Werra players all likely want to focus more on the GSL series.

Unless this comes out of nowhere with a gigantic prize pool.

Idra said in the late episode of The state of the game, that from patch to patch latency on NA serves while playing from Korea is getting worse and worse. I fear that all guys who reside in Korea won't be able to participate due to lag : /
When in doubt, just drone up.

This is true. But then again, if the prize pool is quite high (which it seems to be), I think a lot of players will be interested since it will be easier to win this than GSL. This tournament does after all have many famous figures in the sc2 community, but alot of them arent up there with the pro's.

This tournament is turning out to be quite the endeavor with so many big names. I still can't believe that so many oGs members are going to play since they are from Korea and all. I'm happy to see them though so no complaints here.
And Blizzard is sure taking their sweet time approving this tournament. But with money involved and all, I'm not surprised. Hope things will be sorted out soon.
Life! Enjoy it.

This tournament is likely to not happen. No news.... blizzard isn't to blame. Companies wouldn't hold up something like this without good reason. HDH1 had 25k viewers for the finals. Blizzard mentioned it on their site.....they wouldn't be holding it up. The might ask to set the start time but they wouldn't be holding back the licence. They would give it with whatever conditions they required and hd and husky would be able to pass on the info like "we have to start after GSL or something at a later date to please blizzard".

I like husky and hd but when you remain silent on something like this.... not even posting on their own website or youtube channels.... it kinda says only one thing. They want people to forget about this as their organisation feel through and they can no longer go ahead with it. Otherwise there would have been some news or real explanation other than "a big faceless corporation is to blame not us".

Lol, you seem to be the one reading things "with an angry voice in your head". My post wasn't angry in the slightest. And there weren't any facts in you post, only your opinions that I disagreed with. That's what you do on a message board you know.

HD gave an update about a week ago in one of his videos saying the same thing as in the op, so that goes against your no news rant. Also I agree that there might be other problems that are holding up the competition, but to go from there to say that it's not likely to happens seems to be a very pessimistic way of seeing things. And unless you are a big tournament organizer yourself or you work for blizzard your opinions of how things "work" is not worth a penny.
