This tournament will have alot problems with such a big prize pool if its only online, since someone will most likely try to cheat since its so easy and that might be what blizard is concerned about. It would hurt blizzard alot if someone would get caught already in a big sc2 tournament.
GSL, IEM and MLG got alot better protection against cheating.
Unless I have missed anything they haven't announced how large prize pool there is. Are you just assuming it's big?

This tournament is going to be an organizational nightmare. Hope they can pull it off.

Man, i want this to go down sooo, bad! Hurry up bliz!

This is like OSL/MSL final thread with 100+ pages of hype until the game starts.

In a painuser interview he said it was like over 22,000$. Of course have no idea if this is true or not but I dunno why painuser would lie

Blizz needs to get a move on with that licensing, this is gonna be sick.

If the gsl didn't exist then yeah this tournament wouldve been huge... But I mean gsl. 80g....

They should get google to pitch in as well

I'm sorry but if this tournament is seriously 22,000$+ I don't care GSL or not its still a big prize pool... Especially when 1 you have to be in korea to play in the GSL and for this you don't...

Even at 5k it's one of the largest accesable turny's in the world, though it is invitational, something I'd like fixed but hey, it's up to them I'm not doing any leg work heh

I suggest removing Kulas Ravine and adding a custom map to the pool (possibly Divinity). We need to start gradually introducing some good maps into tournament play and I think HDH2 would be a perfect vehicle for it.

SEN! I am so effing excited to see Sen play in this tournament!
SEN FIGHTING!
...and also some love for my other Zerg brood buddies. :-p
A big thanks from this little noob for putting together the coolest tournament ever.

I'm not saying I believe that 22k number, but for arguments sake...
They could hold 4 "HDH Qualifier tournaments" that would each be less than 5k. Then two show matches that would each be less than 5k. Then a finals match that would be less than 5k. The winner would have won a qualifier, a showmatch, and the final match, and would win total prices summing up to larger than 5k.
That said, I don't think that 5k number is a hard line (as I've just illustrated, it would be impossible to enforce). I think its a guidline and if Blizz wants to shit on your tourney they will.

This is the GSL for most foreigners. It is prohibative for most players having to go to Korea to participate in the GSL.
On that topic, I really hope that the foreigners can prevent it from being all oGs players late in the tourny. Would be pretty embaressing if with all the top non-korean players in this tourny if the one team of koreans who participated end up dominating everyone. Honestly I wouldn't be suprised if the semis were all oGs depending on the brackets. I hope someone stops that though, even tho oGs is awesome.

Probably good there was a delay until 1.1, game should be a bit more balanced now. But now you guys can start.
|
I just wanted to post that it is CellaWerRRa and not Cellawara. Mainly because I have a huge man crush on him, and he is an awesome Zerg who 2v2s with Sen(the greatest zerg?).

I would be surprised if they all went to the semis. You also have to consider the fact that they are playing on the NA servers.

They shouldnt have invited all players so long before it starts thought, since 11 of the 16 left in GSL are not in it so there is a very high chance of the winner not being in this.
