I used to use the Lazytown Loader 2.0 to watch replays when bnet was down for maintenance. Haven't used it since about patch 9 though, so dunno if it still works, but you could give that a shot.

Seems like the lazy launcher or w/e doesn't work either. Game attempts to load, and then simply crashes. Can you confirm?

have the finals been played yet? what are the results?

I can confirm this on patch 13. Trying to load a patch 12 replay either through the game menu itself or through lazy launcher crashes the game.
I mean't use it in your patch 12 setup though. The lazy launcher doesn't need a bnet connection, so in theory you should be able to watch replays on a patch 12 setup with no internet connection required. Since I don't have a patch 12 setup to test though, I can't confirm this.

Tried it on patch 12 and 13.
Its actually strange, anything from patch 5ish to patch 12 crashes if you try to normally load it without an internet connect. Has this always been true?
Also strange to note that patch 13 loads without an internet connection just fine.

It's been true since patch 10 at least. In 10, 11, 12, and 13 you could right click on a replay and open with the Starcraft 2 client and as long as the replay was from the current patch, you could load it without connecting to bnet. Older replays from version 5ish to 9 would crash if you tried the same right click trick, but they would work if you connected to bnet and use the in game menu.
I stopped using the Lazy Launcher around patch 9 or 10 when I found this out, but maybe it was around patch 5 or 6 where this replay bug (crash on right click for old replays) all started.

There was a huge poll about the fact that they aren't doing it live. Funny that there's still confusion about the life issue. After having followed the whole HDH and frequently checked this thread, I'm still not sure myself how they do it. Some games definitely where not live, as people found out the results before stream dates from the players match histories. However, in the rules it says: 10) Round of 4, Third Place, and Finals matches will be spectated by Husky and HD. A time for these games to be played will be worked out between all involved at a closer date.Of course, they can spectate when it's played and still broadcast later. But then they would already know the games when they are streamed which would make the commentating difficult. To commentate live but just for the recording with no audience would be awkward too. Afaik so far they were livecasting replays of games that had been played a couple of days earlier. But what the procedure is for the finals and 3rd match, I don't know. Look at the VODs of semi-finals. See how there's no replay bar? And yet they definitely weren't played live. That means that they either recorded the games and then commentated them later, or just commentated them as they were being played and just streamed the recording.
Ah, I see, thx. I guess they're used to doing it that way (commentating without live audience) from all their youtube commentaries. I still think they could have made the live/not live issue more clear. It comes up so often in this forum and no one has a clue, and the date and time when games are actually played is important because of patches.

Here's the only idea I have left to watch replays offline:
http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=124515
I haven't ever used that program, but from the changelog it supposedly worked with patch 12 (they call it patch 0.12) and they really advertise the watching replays offline feature.
You might have already tried it, but that's my last ditch effort. I got nothing else to help ya with

Does it mean your casting the replays but not the recorded casts now?
|
Guys, I have another issue with Bnet, which might help solve yours. I keep getting this "tracker not responding" error which makes me unable to patch to the new version. If you know which files have been changed due to the patch I might be able to help you return to the older version ... only problem is my connection sucks right now (seems everything is against you )but it could be a temporary issue
Edit : just recalled that there might be some minor (but deciding) differences between the US version and the EU-RU version of the game ... still if no other solution comes to mind, I'd do my best to help you

ZOMG. 2 epic finales tomorrow.

While I was one of those people who were dubious about not streaming the games on the day they were played, with Patch 13 it's become obvious that doing this was a smart idea after all. I presume we will be seeing the actual final games for the HDH, unlike just about every other tournament

The games have already been played so this option is not available.
They have to view the replays and cast the replays live.

They delayed stream the games, meaning they casted them live when they were played but the day they were played is not the day they're going to be streamed.

If that is true, why is HD all over the place desperately trying to get replays to work for tomorrow's HDH?

In the beginning of the tournament the casted replays, so considering HD's haste to get the replays to work, I assume they will do so again. I think they only did a round with live commentaries that were streamed later so I don't know why some people assume that must happen for the final games.

Ok, just to fill everyone in on exactly what happened.
IdrA vs WhiteRa games were played right before the patch and we are going to delay livestream those. Those finals are done and ready to be shared.
TLO vs NonY is a different story. We had a scheduled time (1pm PDT the day of the patch), but there was a major miscommunication. For this reason, HD and myself were not on to cast the games, so NonY and TLO made the right choice and played their games out. They litterally finished their games minutes before the servers went down and I received the replays in my inbox no more than 5 minutes before the servers went down for the patch.
For this reason, we got the replays about 5 minutes before patch 13 went live, which means they were played on patch 12. It was terrible timing and a really unfortunate chain of events. Right now we have the replays on patch 12 but can not cast them because we have not been able to find a way to launch the replays.
