Well, the faggotry play by the terran is insanely hard to counter. It's easy to say he should go air, but you need A LOT of micro for that. Because thors are so dangerous vs. the corruptors.. And once the raven's start coming out.. well...

Hope there's some rebalance in this matchup. A 200 pop zerg army is so weak.

200/200 of strictly air; mass corruptor early to clean up the vikings/ravens initially then shifting to more broods after will beat a 200/200 terran army that has a lot of the supply locked up in tanks -- especially considering you can rebuild so quickly when you have 10k/5k + 40 larvae stockpiled...

2-3 thors are not *super* effective vs corruptors.. not nearly the same as mutas.

those games were painful to watch, sheth mining out his whole side of the map and still being unable to do anything vs a turtled up terran. Qxc literally had no reason to move out, he could just turtle grab a cup of coffee and chill. Like, if sheth didn't attack i don't think the game would have ever ended.

They are however still very effective. He had a lot of raven's and vikings too. And good luck rebuilding after the amount of gas those things cost !

I've been practicing that style for a few days with artosis/idra and found a way to execute it really well. It's not fast and it's not pretty but it wins. After the first few games I realized Sheth didn't have a lot of experience dealing with end game terran mech and from then on I felt like I had a good advantage if I pursued that style of play.

Boring? Yes. Effective? Certainly.

it took qxc a really really really long time to get 12-14 fully upgraded ravens with a fleet of vikings.

if sheth planned on going air a lot sooner with fast air upgrades(to out upgrade qxc in air) he could have easily took air dominance with his resources he had lying around.

Mech is just as gas heavy. So is wasting mass food worth of ultras and roaches + getting 3/3/3 melee range and armor that is useless and spamming nydus + ventral sacs.

It would not have been hard to just build corruptors + bl to 200/200 from every larvae, sheth was just too tired and frustrated.

The problem is the zerg air army can win ONLY if qxc doesnt have ravens out yet. So that can get you one win and then he gets his vikings faster every game probably get some ravens out faster too.

You shouldn't let someone turtle up the entire map half of the map. If Sheth built a ton of spore crawlers, broodlords, and corrupters with his stockpile, then qxc couldn't attack either. Of course, that would be an even more drawn out game. Similarly, if a Protoss is allowed to build a maxed void ray fleet and photon cannons half of the map, you won't be able to attack and win as Zerg or Terran

For all of those people suggesting air, I don't know for sure if it would work. I've never tried that sort of all mass corrupter + broodlord vs. that type of terran. I've never played a terran that turtles like that except for in BW. In BW its possible to simply take 6 bases and over run a 4 base terran with only ground army. However as shown from those games its clearly not doable with my skill level on SC2. Mass air might work better, however at 3AM in the morning its difficult for me to implement a brand new strategy like that. 1roach = 2pop, 75 minerals 25 gas, 1 corrupter 150 minerals 100 gas, 2 pop. I thought that I could just wear him down with my cheaper units, I'll try something new next time. Hopefully I can still play in the next ITL and if NOTHING else, I hopefully have proven that ultras are useless vs. T mech. ^^ Well played QXC, thanks alot for the great games.

Wow game 5 was one of the most boring games I have ever watched. But the overall event was good though. It was just really tedious. I don't think I will be watching starcraft for another couple of days.
