Drops can be defended with splitting your army. Having a main army control group and a drop defense control group.
In general, you want ovies spread around the dead spaces in the map to see the drops coming ahead of time.
If you F2 to control your army then its a very bad habit and its not strategy we should talk about but rather mechanics.

If he expands, then you can simply take more bases and drone further. But those games can be held with by dealing with the first pressure that comes from him. Be it a doom drop, a stim push, or whatevere, and you don't need much tech for that, lings queens and banes if needed deal with all of that.

If you are afraid of hellbats then you can make some banes, send queens first to soak the splash (from the tanks probably), then banes to blow up the hellbats, and eventually surround it with the lings.

I’ve been improving my zerg recently(Diamond 1), Terran is masters three. Currently my largest struggle is zvz it feels like it takes a lot of knowledge to do well in the mu does any one know of good guides I could use to learn more about zvz in the current meta? Most of the material I can find feels somewhat dated.

can't say i know of any guides, but i don't really think zvz is that knowledge based or complex... imo succeeding in zvz is all about scouting, making quicker decisions with your army, having better mechanics.

one rule i like to use for early and midgame is - if your scouting fails you and you don't know what your opponent is doing, make units. then if you find out he played greedy then go be aggressive to either do damage or at least force unit production. works fairly well for both ling bane stage and 3 base roach. after that it's mostly lurker viper micro and using runbys/nydus to trade out roaches

There should be a Lambo-approved guide to the standard Euro-style (defernsive roach game) ZvZ:
https://sc2swarm.com/2019/09/18/lambos-standard-zvz-guide/

but the site appears to be 504-ing right now

Hey there. High Diamond Zerg here.
Played a lot of Mutas (arround 10) into Roaches in HotS. Worked out well, even against master League opponents.
How does this go in LotV? Spores are a bit nerfed in my opinion and the whole Playstyle should work out the same, doesn´t it?

Other question is, any confirmed gas timings in the different matchups yet? I am still kinda confused with the new gametime, economy at the start. I got my own gas timings so far, but they are still not where they used to be and some advice in the regard could help me out a ton.

Greetings.

Hey guys,

got three problems in ZvP right now - would be awesome to have some input:

- natural gets blocked EVERY game --> just take 3rd base?
- cannon rushes --> pool first = behind in eco, hatch first = whats best response?
- adept pressure or all ins (definetly the biggest of the three) including follow up. Seeing even pros having huge problems here, so i dont know the correct answer other than perfect scouting, 300 apm and split roach ling queen drones perfectly...was experimenting with doing 3-4 spines in main or 3rd mineral line while delaying roaches a bit so i can concentrate on defending 2 bases which is much easier but not sure yet if it puts me too behind

- Take hatch on 16 instead of 17
- hatch first, pull 2 drones to attack probe + 4 drones per building down, once even a single cannon finishs sack the natural, if protoss invested more then 500 minerals go queen > lair > roach warren > 2nd queen > three roaches > nydus > three ravagers > lings. and nydus his main.
- scouting and macro, it's a strong build as you said, but at our level you should be able to beat it by out macroing the protoss ( no supply blocks - EVER. Mass roach )
