Just split adepts in the earlygame, make archons in lategame. And ofc warp prism. Like what i am supposed to do? This is not funny. top dia/low masters.
Hey there buddy, I am a GM Zerg and I do decently well against Protoss.
In the current meta you have 3 compositions that are really viable: Ling Hydra Lurker Ling Hydra Baneling Ling Baneling -> Hive
Other units simply die against chargelot / immortal (roaches / ravagers / ultras) you can still play them but you will probably struggle.
I made 3 video guides in which I show how to play the compositions against a top 40 GM on EU.
Hope it helps.
Hello Railgan, thank you for the posts here (I also watched some of your games), they really help me improve. Especially the 3 Roach opener. I made my own deviation, but started with the exact build you suggest, and my win rate ratio vs Terran is great now.
Regarding the ZvP options you suggest, in the hydra bane ling one, how do you counter an early push with 7 adepts? Should I have about 5 safety banes at home? May be scout it on time, so I can prepare more units? And how do you deal with early prisms with it? Does queens and lings are enough to deal with the prism and the adepts (stalker/zealot) which comes with it and warps in my base?
Usually I have safety roaches, but I don't really like this option as (prefer banes), so all three styles seem interesting for me. I begin with the lower tech ones.
Of course I got the Answer for you! I actually just played a fun game on ladder where the opponent went TC -> Robo and tried to drop adepts. I don't really have any specific timings or needed baneling count to be save. I just scout a lot and react to it. This game I had 2 Banelings and a couple ling and I held the Adepts easily.
This is the replay.. he went for an adept allin follow up which almost killed me as I made almost no banelings. To defend against the Warpprism I built a spine in every mineral line, I do that everytime I scout an Adept / Prism opening as it makes me feel save. After his botched attack I immediatly started spores to defend against DT's.
Then I just went for a fun Mass Swarmhost / Corruptor / Ling style
Could anyone point some vids of ZvT extreme lategame?
I have a lot of difficulty dealing with high numbers of liberators combined with stuff like ghosts or mass vikings. From what I've read it seems that vipers are necessary lategame zvt but I'm still confused on new units and stuff (been playing lotv for a month now, never seen or heard of the oracle or cyclone before today haha).

masters zerg that played wol.
Played this on NA versus some Top 16 GM Terran.
I just play Roach Ravager Corruptor no mather what I face. Works versus Tanks, Liberators, Ghosts, Banshees, Vikings doesn't really mather what they throw at me
Alternativly just look at the Games of Scarlett on Dusktower versus e.g. Marinelord.
Interesting. Ever use infestors, maybe vs bio? roach ravager corruptor still good against lots of tanks? Do you bother getting ultras ever, or hive, 3/3?

here's PiG going over Nerchio's ZvT style vs bio, covers hive timings and infestor usage

You can use Infestors vs Bio but I prefer adding Hydralisks. Hydralisks have insane DPS and especially if you have a big Roach count to tank for them.
For Hydra play see this:
Lots of Tanks can be an issue. The Terran still has to move out, if he wants to win though. The more tanks the Terran has, the more Ravagers you need. If you can keep his Medivac count low, he will have trouble saving his tanks from Roach flanks / Corrosive Biles. It requires a lot of control and you need to be good at taking engagements and using biles to zone both the bio army and tanks / medivcas. I can win with pure Roach Ravager Corrupter versus must Terrans. It also depends on the Maps of course. Not every composition is ideal for every map... (looking at you King Sejong Station).
I sometimes get 3/3 & Hive if I am way ahead or the Terran simply turtles. There is no point in throwing units at the Terrran, it's better to try and contain him while banking money for a second wave of Roaches once your Main army disappears.

Do you ever make vipers anymore, in any of the match-ups? It seems to me that vipers are the way to go vs mass air in ZvT or ZvP, right?
In the 2nd video I attacked him multiple times, throwing my lead away, instead of just teching at home. What I meant was: If the Terran turtles on 3 bases, leave him be and tech. A 3 Base Terran is no threat in the late game!
Vipers can be the way to go. I personally prefer using Queen Roach Ravager Corruptor versus mass Air.
Roaches clear any ground units, Queens shoot at Vikings / Banshees / Liberator, Ravagers take down those nasty Liberators with their bile or just shoot them all over his Vikings and Corruptors tank while doing their steady dps.
I previously showed you a Video against Ghost Viking Liberator about that. ______________________________________
Against Protoss mass Air... Parasitic Bomb doesn't really have enough of an Impact but I still go for a Ultralisk Corruptor Viper composition... Usually I just want to kill them off before they get out their Mass Air. ______________________________________

Vipers used to be the answer to everything now they are pretty much the answer to nothing except mech play I guess, just like Mutalisks. Protoss fast rushes for Templar tech for Archons anyways so using them to pull Tempests is just wasted gas and yea, they are obviously horrible vs bio.
Speaking of Protoss, does anyone have any 2 or 3 base all ins that hit the Protoss either in the mid game or early game? I've pretty much completely given up macro games vs Protoss as once they set up the 4th and begin the hilarious Mothership + Tempests + Archons/Immortals you better have some beastly mechanics to combat it.

Against a two base adept warp prisim resonating glaves all in, assuming I'm on three hatch and got a roach warren up, how many drones should I go up to and how many of them on gas?

I usually drone up to 48 on the Minerals and take 2 Gasses -> 54 Drones and I then get 1 Spine per Mineral line and defend with Lings.

Lings against 8 gate adepts?! What are you using the gas for ? I'm guessing you meant lings and roaches? Even then 54 sounds way too high. Perhaps I wasn't clear on how all in I'm talking about.

I am not sure but around 4:30 against Terran if you are not sure what tech he is going for / if he goes 2 base allin.
Versus Protoss aswell 4:30 but usually your 1st. OL will be able to spot your Opponents Tech.
