Have a look at the FAQ, first item: Why aren't I seeing Spending Skill for my matches? Go to your settings page. From there, authenticate your battle.net account and supply your character code. Whenever you upload a new replay, it'll pull your latest matches and update the Spending Skill and all the other fancy charts. It usually takes 45 seconds, although sometimes as long as 5 minutes and in rare cases longer.

Under spending skill. Sometimes it takes a bit to calculate.

http://ggtracker.com/players/1027105 Yeeeeah! Leads to another question now. The newest (WIP?) version of the Staircase doesn't have macro benchmarks listed. Should I be using the benchmarks from the first tab of the spreadsheet? For the steps, is the recommendation to incorporate each Battle Unit into the mix one at a time, and for each match that is the only unit you can build? And should all Battle Units be incorporated *before* adding the Additional Units? I don't quite understand the steps as they are written! :D Thanks for this again, JaKaTaK!

![]() I'm torn between a couple of ideas right now. One would be something like monobattles but in 1v1, maybe something like duobattles instead where you choose 2 units per step, that might be a bit for fun, deciding which to go for. Trying to find some units that compliment each other or something like that. The other idea would be just adding on units 1 by 1 the way it is now, with the added freedom of choosing the unit order. What do you think would be more fun?

Step 1: Zerglings. Step 2: Zerglings + 1 Low-Tier Unit Step 3: Zerglings + 2 Low-Tier Units Step 4: Zerglings + 2 Low-Tier Units + 1 High-Tier Unit I don't know though. I don't have enough experience playing and learning to really know what would be best *or* fun. I do know that it has been super fun to go pure ling, and that I am really pumped to nail my benchmarks so that I can introduce Hydras and make an unstoppable hydraling army of dooooooom!! XD

So do I need to make more than 3 Hatch's? Because what I am doing is just 3 hatch stop at 16 drones at each base then just make ovies and lings Ok so I answered my own question, I am figuring out how this thing works, I just did a step 1 test and I got to my SQ level that I was wanting! Awesome now to move onto step 2! P.S. I am doing these Steps against "Hard" AI, do you suggest anything else or is that ok?

![]() But on the other hand, some units just require a certain composition to be really effective. But its not about that though in the staircase is it. It's about how one can learn the mechanics of the game in the most fun and efficient way but also in a way that everyone can deal with it. Or there could be the step program that progresses by 1 unit increments like now and a step program that allows u to use 2 units right away. But u would have to redesign the program and add even more videos for each step ![]() Maybe start a poll ? ![]()

I would do the vs AI ladder so that you're always being challenged ![]() ![]() @Juvator In The Stuff Leauge you do not need anything more than your first unit and mechanics. In higher league you may have to start delving into strategies to get above 50% win rate, but not in BSG. Here are the options I'm considering: Monobattles - Instead of just on a team, you do this 1v1 as well. Each pass moves you on to a new unit and you leave the old unit behind. Pros - Learn the exact mineral/gas balance of the unit - Press the combination to make the unit and supporting structures more than other methods. Cons - If playing 1v1, it is very difficult (although possible) to win with units like the phoenix. Duobattles - Same as monobattles, but 2 units at a time. Each pass moves you to at least 1 new unit. Pros - Could be fun mixing and matching different units. - Learn how different units work together. - More analogous to real game experiences. Cons - Less of a focus on a single unit. Incremental - Start with first unit only. Each pass adds 1 new unit available to make. Pros - Incremental build to real game experience Cons - Least focus on a new unit - Longest Pass time - Very complex decision making towards the end - Maybe not constraining enough to encourage creativity Right now, I really like the idea of Duobattles. Monobattles is probably the most efficient, but likely the least fun, unless we specify or encourage team games. We could also combine some. Basically saying to start off, go play monobattles and get a pass with each unit, then play the Incremental style staircase. Ideas?

Hey bud, do you think I should be practicing my Step 1 as zerg and just continue to do that against players and not even worry if I am going to lose the match or not? Should I just focus strictly on my injects and spending money and not worry about my unit composition? Thanks for your help and willingness to help us bronze/silver league guys out!

TheStaircase is designed to give you a good idea when to move on. Set you league goal, and stay on the step you are currently on until you pass that step 3 times in a row. The higher you set your league goal, the longer each step will take, but the better your mechanics will be when you finish.
