MC's hold against Idra on XNC, from a game ages ago now, is a great template for holding a 6 pool.
If you scout later, say 13, then, yeah, I imagine building your gate closer to your Nexus is advisable.

Also at a bit of a lower level than yours (700ish master) i'm like 10-0 with 4gate zealot into DT lol, so if you run into someone worse than you on a shitty map like Shakuras or Antiga it might be worth trying it. I've beaten people as high as 1k with it for hell knows what reason.

On ohana, you can sacrifice the +1 zealot timing by delaying +1 and getting an earlier twilight council, and then a dark shrine then +1 and +2 and blink chronoing the attack upgrades. If you place a pylon to warp into the zerg main while using the initial 6 not +1 zealots to distract the zerg at their third, you can get 4 dts to kill the lair morphing in the main/natural. Then without overseers and without roach speed or burrow you follow up with +2 blink stalkers. Once the lair falls, you can split the dts to keep harassing and killing some drones and the +2 stalkers just snowball into an easy win.

Lately I've been having trouble against a 2-base thor all-in in PvT. The composition is usually thors, cloaked banshees, six or so SCVs, a non-trivial number of marines--and sometimes a raven. Any thoughts on how to scout for this, and how to beat it? The last few times I saw it coming several minutes in advance, and tried to engage favorably, but still ended up getting crushed pretty handily. It does seem like this style is weak to early gateway timings (e.g., 6-gate)--but surely there's something I can do against this composition other than kill him before he gets there. Is the answer just fast third + overwhelming him with units? Tough to practice against this because it only comes up once in a while.

The one televised match i remember in which that push fails is HerO vs some terran, and HerO just turtled on 2bases teching to storm/charge/immortal; the push hit pretty late so HerO had both storm and charge, so he held quite handily; here is the vod http://www.gomtv.net/2012gsls2/vod/67128/?set=3&lang= In general, i think on paper a 2base templar opening might be better than colossus, i don't know if you can take a third in the meantime or not. Your obs off 1gate fe into 3gate robo gets to his base at like 9 minutes though so you can't just choose your tech path if you didn't go for a fast robo after the 1gate fe.

Yes, I think storm is required, although I'm not sure it would always be possible to have it.

![]() I have 2 questions: 1. I asked him to hatch block my natural, I wanted to test the solution of a macro Nexus. Forgive me for all the gas bank, I need to refine it more. Is this a reasonable response to a Zerg blocking my nat? 2. I have no idea what to do vs Zerg doom drops. If I position my army in my 3rd, I lose the main. If I position my army in the nat/main, I lose my 3rd. Unlike mutas there isn't any magic unit that can hold well vs those drops. I should had more map vision, but still the response time window that is open to me is very small. Maybe after I lost both Nexus I needed to calmly rebuild them and take a 4th instead of trying to counter...

Putting your gateway near nexus is essentially a free win vs early pools. Your zealot will almost be out by the time 6 lings arrive to your base. During that time select all of your probes and spam click on the mineral patch farhest away from the zerglings. This will make your probe stack up. If the zerglings enters the mineral line, click on the mineral patch on the opposite side of your mineral line and attack move when you are right on top of his zerglings which will make you get a nice and clean surround. You will lose a few probes but not many and considering that he is at 10 less workers to begin with. If the zerglings flee out of the mineral line, just keep stack your probes untill your zealot pops. Once he does it becomes easy peasy. Just keep him near your probes so he doesn't die. Keep chrono on zealots no matter what basically. 2 zealots murder 6 lings so zerg is forced to make more lings or defense. But zergs eco is already crap and he cannot afford to make anything but drones. You can follow up with whatever you want, you should be terribly ahead tho no matter what you do.

Then you need to pull 5 probes and attack the hatchery. The hatchery will die and no queen will spread creep. To be safe put the 5 probes at the bottom of the hatch so that the probes surround the queen IF it pops which it shouldn't. You can focus down larva with the cannon as well and it will die in 2 shots.

Take a look at Naniwa's build on Liquipedia, I belive that kind of opening is still pretty standard. Alternatively, you can do a 3 Stalker rush into Blink Obs. Depending on what you scout, you can get the Twilight after 1 or 3 stalkers, and the Robo before 3rd gate.

FFE -> Star (preesure/scout) -> Fleet Beacon -> early third -> mothership -> templar (storm archons) and supplemented with a ton of chargelots. The maker of thread is pretty confident in his build which is what attracted my interests in the first place but using multiple searches i've sprung nothing. it's fairly recent. please, and thanks much appreciated.

Are you talking about the 1 base bust? And what strategy are you doing against it? Typically the answer is to wall off completely at the top of your ramp upon scouting the bust incoming.
