This is the most depressing answer I'll probably ever give in this thread:
Q: How do I leave a channel/remove a channel from my list? A: Clicking the "X" simply leaves the channel, however there is currently no way to remove a private channel from your list. Logging out does not clear this either. The list currently keeps track of the last 5 channels you have created/joined/been invited to and bumps the 6th from your list.

Sigh. =(

What ratio of Marine/Marauder should I have in bioball?

On April 15 2011 13:49 JagRoss wrote: What ratio of Marine/Marauder should I have in bioball? I know this won't seem very helpful, but it depends.
If you are facing someone who uses a large amount of Stalkers/Colossi, Marauders are your friend. If you are facing someone who uses Zealots and Pheonixes (and Colossi I guess) you want more Marines. Really, you sort of have to react to what sort of army his is and build the type thats stronger. You can still have both in your army, but you'll want to skew it towards his composition.

How to stop a tank/marine/banshee/scv-allin with protoss after expandig early?
|
On April 14 2011 15:24 Schplyok wrote: Why would you NOT steal gas in zvp?
If he is going forge FE, sure gas steal is not optimal but in any type of 1 base play you really screw the protoss by gas stealing.
What can't he do if you gas steal: - He cannot have enough sentries to expand safely; - Any type of tech build (stargate, robo whatever...) is significantly slowed.
What can he do if you gas steal: - A delayed and suboptimal tech build; - 1 gas, 4 gate; - Risky (or delayed) expand without enough sentries.
Some players will choose to see what time the protoss takes their second gas, instead of stealing it. This way zerg can start working on counters versus heavy gas builds (ones you mentioned). I think idra is one of the people that does this I may be wrong.
Also, stealing gas is somewhat asking for a 4gate, depends on how well you can stop those I guess
|
From a protoss perspective: I think stopping a 1-gas 4gate is much easier than stopping a 2-gas 4gate if the protoss knows how to use force-fields. Plus it's much easier to scout (Protoss can't fake an expand etc.) AND Protoss can't transition out of a 1gas 4-gate into a macro-game and not be very far behind.
So yeah, I think stealing the gas should be the standard in zvp.

When I have my command centers keyed to the same control group how do I pick which one to quickly move to when I double tap the control group key ?
|
Can someone show me a decent ZvT(from Z perspective) build, possibly a guide. I've looked and cant find anything recent. A build in a standard game from a pro would also be nice.

Hi, just curious, how does fungal growth and the corruption spell interact?
|
If you warp in units and the pylon is killed , you get the minerals back and the cd on your warpgates ?!!!!!!

Hi,
+ Show Spoiler +I searched but couldn't find the answer to this question. I'm not interested in balance discussion, just in the viability of what I mention below. I realize that it's not easy to tech to ultra's, and other units in either comp would change everything. Also, I didn't make a separate thread because I didn't want to clutter up the forums with theorycraft. I'm looking for VOD's of high level ZvP doing the following. Ultralisk + Corruptor VS Stalker + Colossus (+ Sentries) A-move everything into the ball + Show Spoiler + There are two major dilemmas with the standard use of Corruptors vs Colossi: 1. You have to make exactly enough of them. If you make to few the stalkers will kill the corruptors too soon. If you make too many the stalkers will kill you because your army is too weak. This can bee seem in a number of high-level PvZ's. 2. If you engage with normal ground units (esp. hydras) at the same time as with the corruptors, the Colossi will get to do a lot of damage before they die to the corruptors. But if you engage only with the corruptors it is very hard to snipe the colossi because the stalkers have the same range as the corruptors.
Then, about ultralisks - there are three things to realize aside from the obvious. 3. colossi do crap damage against ultralisks, and splash damage is almost nullified. 4. stalkers can only kill corruptors OR ultralisks, not both at the same time. 5. ultras have as much toughness as corruptors for the cost, and deal far more damage if they get to melee range. They will however kill stalkers before colossi (fine in my book), and only 2-5 can attack depending on terrain and micro.
This should make 5 ultra/10 corruptor about as durable for the cost as mass (20) corruptor. Without committing another 1500/1000 to air superiority. I suspect you can engage with everything at once and do pretty good damage. If the zerg has other units like lings, hydra's and roaches, the ultra's can mix in before engaging, reducing splash damage dramatically. Now to the question(s).
[Q] Is a mix of ultra/corruptor as cost-effective against stalker/colossus as mass corruptor? [Q] Has this been tried by good players - and did it work? VODs?

You can't. Double-tapping a hotkey in general snaps camera focus to the nearest unit (in this case cc) in the group. You can use the base camera hotkey (default backspace) to jump your camera through your ccs quickly.

They're out there, e.g., mr. bitter's analysis of losira's roach/baneling style, infestor-first zvt, and spanishiwa's gasless tvx opening..

Yes.
On April 15 2011 15:17 ZXRP wrote: Hi, just curious, how does fungal growth and the corruption spell interact?
Yes. Corruption will add 20% damage onto fungal (and stacks additively with the +armor bonus). If casted after fungal, corruption begins applying on the next tick of fungal.

Guess I'll post again.
I remember seeing a great guide on the variations of 4-gate a while back on TL. Anyone remember the thread name? Searching for "4-gate" or "4 gate" just yields a hundred pages of closed threads.

Disadvantage of Windowed-Full screen mode?
Is there any?
I know the advantage includes lagless alt+tabbing, which is pretty darn awesome. But sure there must be a con of it, or else why make SC2 non-windowed full screen to begin with?

It takes more processing power than regular full screen mode.

+ (Minor) full screen mode tends to interact poorly with video-capture software, i.e., most streaming guides recommend you run in full-screen windowed instead of full-screen proper. + (Major) In general windowed mode gives worse fps than full-screen mode. The short version of it is that even though full-screen windowed mode takes up the full screen, some work is done to render the windows behind starcraft. This QA from stack overflow goes into more detail on the matter:

When you expand as zerg, at what amount of minerals should your drone leave your base to reach the natural exp to have an extant amount of 300 minerals to plant a new hatchery?

Ty a lot. You're so smart!

Ok I have a relitively simple question.
In what league is it a good idea to start considering Micro?
To expand on that I am in Bronze and focusing on macro, if I lose a game it was because I didnt have enough stuff or I did something dumb like charge a siege line, not because I failed to move my stalkers when they were on low hp.
So what league skill level is it when your macro is solid, you dont do dumb shit anymore and to win a game requires unit placement and control?

Played a ZvZlast night on Shattered where I went for the usual hatch first (14hatch, 15pool in this case), the opponent blind countered with a 10pool into lings & a spine in my base
Is there any hatch-first opening that's safe against this sort of counter?
