1. There are many places you can find build orders, for Terran and other races. Here is a common one: https://lotv.spawningtool.com/
2. On 2 bases 5 rax with add-ons is optimal. 3 Bases its usually 7 rax, 2 factories and 1 starport. Some cut the 2nd factory and go for 8 rax instead.
3. Mech is around 3 factories for 2 base, 5 for 3 base.
4. I play all races, when I play Terran I have a camera location on the rally of the production, and then I just jump there with the camera location, box, and add it to an existing control group, or put it on a separate control group if its a secondary army / drop I'm going for. But I shouldn't be the one to give the answer to that, as my Terran is still below Masters.

Hey, I just realized... How come there are 0 professional Starcraft casters that main race Zerg? Where could I find such a caster.... does that caster even exist?
(Nvm, I forgot about Catz... but is he really the only one?)

Thx for Answering!
Getting a little bit clearer for me now.

zerg unit composition question
Hi,
which unit Combo vs alot Voidray-speed + (into) Carrier Map: Industry & Purity
Problem: Carrier messing with A-move Voidray partly charging vs snipes (corruptor), and good anti spore, too
Assuming good opponent, who can micro = spread voidrays = abuse their speed vs Parasitic Bomb A) Hydra + Infestor (Microbial shroud) and queens of course, duh
B) Corruptor + Viper
There could be two versions for answers: 1 One vs two base play/pressure (2 base into 3, both losing 3rd 4rth base , conserving expensive unit...)
2 One for both being more defensive/macro.
I always struggle a bit against/with this...
Thanks alot!

for aggressive play: if it's mass air/mass cannon with not much ground army and no templar tech then hydra+bane is very potent because the banes will roll through everything on the ground, including cannons/batteries. if it's ground into air (some immortals, templar, zealots before air) i think hydra lurker timings can be quite strong depending on map and position
the defensive macro answer is mass spore, corruptor brood lord viper, and upgraded lings to deny bases and runby/nydus. some defensive hydras may be necessary against double phoenix or speed void rays, but don't overbuild, you don't need that many for a macro game

I see, thanks.
you don't use the new microbial shroud to support hydra bling vs air?

Not sure if there's a simple answer to this or not. How does the game decide how my nexii are ordered in my control group? I would love to reliably press 5, select the third wireframe and know that I'm recalling to my third. Unfortunately, it seems mostly random how these structures get ordered in the control group.
|
Edit3 see new answer Edit1: Aldeon, from some tests, the third added stays in the third position... Edit2: Aldeon, from my even more tests, it's the same for Zerg, and I can tell you I also played with this mechanic: The creep queens added to the group stay in that order... Edit2 result: So you must be mistaken... to repeat I just double checked it for both races, zerg and protoss (where you can use this). I used the warpback and the creepqueen+center on the fireframe succesfully 100%, in some practice setups!
aldeon, I wrote an initial post - because I didn't get what you mean at first:
I'd love to know too, after all - the way how I do it is to select it manually to recall there. From what I know the same units of the exact same type have no order-preference of when you add it... The only order there is is the type.
That being said, once you added to a control group it will stay in that order..... I use that for my queen spread creep in the lategame, once I had to put them in a certain group where they are not alone anymore (no double tab), because I want that hotkey for heavy air or other air.
Recommendation a) remember that order for each game...
So my current recommendation (b) to you would be - yes, unfortunately I know blizzard doesn't improve their game anymore, and we are still stuck to 10 control groups - to bind that nexus on a dedicated hotkey - for instance I use the extra hotkeys: T, G, B.
I might edit something, but at least about jumping to a unit: It's the closest one, or the more clustered part of the group.
Not sure if these information is useful to you, good luck!

Edit3: There is more to this, so I couldn't simply let you with my first answer... This seems to be a weird thing for main bases that I figured out for you now. It is indeed not that intuitive.
- First of all I'd like to apologize, for queens, where I use it, it's the same. For given the nexuses I tested it's too, and my statements weren't really wrong, they were just not comprehensive:
However for certain maps and positions it seems to be different. Anyways please try yourself to recreate your groups for the same Nexuses and you will ALLWAYS get the same order for the same nexuses.
Here is how it goes: You could also test yourself: Every position seems to have a priority indicator... For instance if you just hotkey your main and natural, it will always be first and second order. If you add the "third" it can be at a different priority depending on the map. Same goes for more bases.
So for instance you could have Priority 2,3, and 5 in your nexuses at first. Once you add the "fourth" with priority 4, it will now be at position 3, and your "third" is at 4... The reason I didn't start at 1 is because some "late" bases seem to be at 1 suddenly - having a higher priority.
I will make an example for a non 1v1 map, so you are motivated to figure the others our yourself:
Please share your findings, in that new thread! Edit: Please keep the size of pictures small, keep it to the relevant (I have limited bandwith :D)
Edit: Link: Description: As you can figure, the order of ALL bases is the same. However if you have only a few of the selected bases, the order might seem to swap - or rather said, another bases will be put inbetween (or even infront). For instance, the green numbers indicate the apparent intuitive order of bases, however stuff gets complicated once you get more bases, see black (4 bases) and red (8 bases).
This should clarify things, in other words, you have to figure out the overall-order for each of the current ladder maps.
p.s. What I can say is that you should create a new thread - because this really seems not a simple answer.
Perhaps write to a moderator to put our comments in a new thread all together...
PSPSPS EDIT4: heyyyyyyyyyyyyyy I feel like on Drugs &:-/ Blizzard seems to having done an epic job here... everytime you reload the map the order is different - at least from my tests :D :D :D good news, for that very same SESSION IT IS STATIC!!!!!! so just test (when you have 4 bases or 3, which position it is... before doing the attack what ever).
I wonder this wasn't adressed to blizzard at all - given the new warp back mechanic, at least there seems to be nothing done about it - I wrote a feedback/ticket to blizzard, fyi.
AND STILL PLEASE READ THE STUFF I WROTE; I put quite some work into figuring this shit... :D :O
PSPSPSPSPSPSPS - after post #17833 For further discussion, I created a new thread, where all this is merged: https://tl.net/forum/sc2-strategy/558390-problemguide-protoss-mainbasepriorityorde-warpback#1

Holy moly Kertorak, you certainly did put a lot of work in to this. Apparently it certainly is not a simple answer, and I'm wondering why nobody else seems as concerned about it as us xD Either way, thank you for all the testing you have done and for submitting that ticket. I suppose it is just another thing I'll have to add to my mid game routine for now. Much appreciated <3

Hey guys,
grabbed SC2 again lately and i'm wondering if they changed something in the laddersystem. I was a (low) Master player and now i'm getting destroyed on latter by 3.9, 4k mmr players. Is it just me being rusty or are more players sharing my experience?
|
no clue, more exp decay, so good players (like you) have to climb the ranks again, before you see their real, there sometimes is simply smurfs too. I think it is always the case when you come back to a game - it feels a little overwhelming, that's what unranked is good for. also there were balance changes, which people who actually play have a better feel for (using current builds perhaps etc).
I'm sure you are simply a bit rusty (here is an example from another player https://tl.net/forum/sc2-strategy/558109-4000-mmr-zerg-looking-for-training-partners). You really shouldn't care about that, just play some more. Low Masters is no joke or common skill at all to reach, for most people it being a hobby but still with limited casual time.
A second thing, don't compare yourself with the enemy, but with your old replays and milestones that you reached in the game in the past. I once played another game really awesomely, as I watched some of my videos, but when I came back to it for retro reasons/casually it was really hard because of other games I played or different setups/so called "quality of life" improvements..... So don't point at others, but look at your stuff. Sc2 offers you to watch replays from any version, afaik. And no offense, but you can upload videos for free, too
PS: Um this weeks seems I care about people alot. lol, second not simple answer.

New question: how do I put Hold position to alt+e? I managed to do that via the .txt, and it also shows ingame, HOWEVER it won't issue the command via alt+e (and actually doesn't show alt+e in the hotkeys menu) The problem seems that activating auto-cast is also bound to alt+... but you can't auto-cast hold position, so seems more like a bug if anything? Help? If you know the answer exactly, I'd also appreciate a PM (personal message). Thanks.

(Z) Getting utterly demolished by Terran mech in the late game, once they have tank+thor up nothing I seem to do works. Can anyone link a good updated guide or an example where zerg deals with late game max mech terran armies?

I have a technical question about keyboard settings and Filterkeys on Windows 10. From "Everything You Never Knew About Hotkeys - IN-DEPTH #32" Scarlett shares a series of registry tweaks intended to increase keyboard response rate (starting at approx here).
"AutoRepeatDelay"="200"
"AutoRepeatRate"="6"
"DelayBeforeAcceptance"="0"
"Flags"="59"
Flags 59 appears to turn on Filterkeys in Windows 10 which I don't understand at all how that could help StarCraft play. Filterkeys is by definition somewhat the opposite of what the goal is. Per Microsoft "Filter Keys is one such feature which tells the keyboard to ignore repeated keystrokes."
Am I missing something here? When I changed these settings typing was impossible and Starcraft play was nearly impossible.
Can someone who is more familiar with this please shed some light on this for me?

If I block a contact/person on bnet, that person can still see me online/offline status? Does he get a notification that I blocked him? If I delete him, does that mean I am deleted on his friendlist aswell? (What I want)
