Its different for the servers. NA is around 1400-1500 and EU like 1300-1400. However you can play GM players with like 150 points less from time to time.

There is currently no way to do this unfortunately. The Warp Gate one only works because Blizzard have a specific Hotkey option for selecting Warp Gates, but no such option exists for other buildings.

I'm a EU Masters Protoss that was lurking in the middle of my league before we switched over to 2012 but since then things have changed. I've had a lot more to do in school, in my personal life and gotten one of those girl friends that really restricts the time I can devote to SC2. Therefor when I play nowadays I'm always exhausted and I littarly can't play at a level I feel comfortable with. I really need some help of how to deal with my fatigue to keep progressing.
So yeah basicly what I'm looking for is either a guide or some personal advice from people who have a similar life style as I do and can only play about 3-4 nights per week and maybe 2-3 hours at a time.
Hey, I'm about the same as you, cept in the US. I'm a freshman in uni, and have a lot of work and volunteer/EC stuff to handle, so I play maybe a couple games a day on average (most piled on weekends).
Well, I can't give you much advice except to schedule your activities well. How much you do you care about SC? If you care enough, schedule "starcraft time" similar to how you schedule other things. Like, I usually plan ahead each day: eat, go to gen chem, get back, do a little reading, take a nap, go to bio, eat, then play a little starcraft before starting homework as an example. Make sure you limit your time for starcraft though, like I said, only a couple games a day.
Don't always just play ladder games. You can play a custom game (unranked I mean) to learn/practice a build, a UMS, read some TL, etc. to get better. On a limited schedule, you can't mindlessly ladder grind, just do it when you feel "ready" for it. True, you have less ladder games, but it helps you maintain your ranking. I've managed to hold onto my ranking pretty well-- I'm around 1200 points with ~70% PvZ, 54% PvP and 41% PvT, but haven't gone up-- need moar games I guess.
I personally have a pretty terrible sleep schedule (something like 3 AM-8/10AM with naps on 8AM days), but yeah. If you really actually have so much to do (which I doubt, its usually just wasting time here and there that fritters away your day), then something's gotta go, and that's going to be a hard choice.
Hope that helps a bit.

Simple question, when is the next/first MLG?

Quetsions about mech
Well, I myself love mech so much. I have some questions regarding Mech.
1. I saw Avilo's youtube video regarding mech late game tvp thoughts. He just said it is not viable. What do you say on this?
2. I love mech so much, but the problem for me is....aggression. What units/at what time can I be aggressive to people? I am Diamond level. I have no choice but to use hellions. And recently I have found out that I can use banshees too. Are they the only 2 units a meching T can use to be aggressive? As a meching T, What do you do to be aggressive?
3. This is connected with number 2. Mech needs to be a lot of units to be successful and strong. So I have to wait until 200/200 to attack or something?
I apologize if they are too many questions. Hope someone will help. Thanks!

I apologize if they are too many questions. Hope someone will help. Thanks! Hellion drops/run-bys (usually want drops, run bys tend to get screwed by forcefields) are basically the only way for the large majority of the game. I guess banshees to a certain extent but committing to them early really cuts on your unit production in my experience while getting them later gets deflected without paying for themselves (ofc you can use them in your main army, I'm strictly talking about harass options).
Late/end game nukes are great along with whatever you may have transitioned into (depending on the toss response you may have slowly incorporated some bio which isn't unusual, now drops are definitely a good harass option). Generally though these are small things here and there and not really the core of a mech build so I wouldn't worry too much if your harass isn't accomplishing a whole lot.
Mech is very map dependent. You have to be able to secure 3 bases to allow yourself to max out, if you can sneak a base early that would be amazing (shakuras/taldarim are perfect for this). In general, you can't push out until you're maxed. You also can't afford to split your army to deal with blink stalkers / warp prisms / dts / voidrays / etc. Build sensor towers, spam turrets, build planetary fortresses. Cover every possible weakness of your base with turrets and you should have sensor towers detecting your entire half of the map. Planetaries make it very difficult for toss to engage you. Many mech players bitch about zealot-archon just rolling their army (because they tend to lose all their hellions after the first exchange). Don't let this happen to you, it's easily avoided by having good unit positioning. Oh and you should have all the orbital energy to block the screen in mules. Scan him non-stop. He will likely change his unit composition from the standard, common transition being mass carriers. Make sure you know exactly where his army is and what he's doing so you can counter appropriately. Oh and please don't forget building armor + turret range at the engineering bay.
Overall I can't comment on how viable mech is in PvT, I'm no where near the level of a pro gamer.
|
Thank you so much, but that is the problem. I like macro games, but having to mass turrets everywhere, PF everywhere, to me...this is very boring..
Perhaps I am better off playing Bio vs P. BIo is obviously very cost-efficient right? Its just Colossi and stupid easy spam storms that I am afraid of...

Hi, I don't know exactly which thread you're looking for Liquipedia has a lot of information and examples on the Forge Fast Expansion (vs. Zerg) page.
The thread I think you may be refering to might be this one, but if it's not on the search page if you look for Wall or FFE etc with the section set to just Starcraft 2 Strategy you might be able to find more information as well, which will filter out all bw pages for you.

How many baneling hits does it take to kill a morphing baneling cocoon?

How do you bind your infestors? I keep them on my main army and also a separate bind but I'm wondering if I should just make two separate binds: 1 for roaches etc and 1 for infestors like I see many pros do. Any opinion is appreciated.

Hey, I have been away for a few months and I was wondering what the metagame of Protoss matchups are. PvZ, PvT, PvP. And if you could please add what general build you are using with success in each of the matchups that would be great. thanks.

If i get to the point where i have mutas and infestors, I put mutas on 2 and roaches and lings on 1

PvZ has seen the rise of muta-based midgames to buy time for a broodlord/corruptor/infestor zerg deathball. Protoss have been responding with storm and blink stalkers in the midgame, and void rays/templar/colossi/mothership (sometimes carriers) in the lategame.
PvP it a lot about blink stalkers and blink+obs pressure. For a while, archon/chargelot midgame compositions were pretty popular, idk what is really "popular" nowadays though.
PvT hasn't changed much lategame save for the addition of warp-prism harass (which is really good). On some maps 15 nexus is a fairly common opener, though 1gate FE is far more common. I can't say how popular 2rax is any more, a lot of terrans still 1/1/1, and 1rax gasless FE is really common. Pros have been doing a lot of 2-forge followups to their 1gate FE, and going for templar, blink, and charge instead of getting colossi right away.
Hope this helps, if I missed/omitted/butchered anything, people can feel free to correct me.
