How do you do Tank/Viking? TvT

Diamond T and I've been hearing alot about this T/V build but I have no idea how you do it.

1) Whats the build order? How early should you expand

2) Do you make marines at all? Or anything besides tank/vikings? From what I read on the forums it LITERALLY seems like all you do is make tank/viking the entire game. Although this sounds funky on paper

3) Is T/V strictly a TvT thing or is it a universal strategy

It sounds like a poplar strat but for some reason I don't think I've ever actually fought it. Or maybe I have I just didn't realize it.

Help on how to do this build would be nice

-- produce marines / tanks / siege / vikings (reactor'ed after first viking if you want), siege earlier or later depending if you want the gas somewhere else (eg. more vikings or like techlabs for a techswap to banshee or whatever)

then in TvT tank viking

1. inch superior viking air to air force forward
2. move and siege-up a few inches toward their tanks

^ which is usually the one who got the superior viking numbers.

Once you get 6+ tanks, any bio army will melt trying to attack you upfront. They have to drop and harrass your base (which is often hindered by vikings--- viking air superiority is VITAL)

I usually get 2x reactor starports pretty early and just PUMPvikings... it sucks, it's boring and I wish there was another safer build. Going 3rax expand or 1 rax expand puts you into trouble with potential banshees.

Day[9] nr171 talked about a cool oppening that gratorp made, where he pushed with 2 helions, 1 banshee and 3 marines and expanded, after that he transitioned into marauder medivac, tank.

A build order for that from the daily show was

10 supply
11gas
12rax
14-15orbitalcommand
15 marine
16 supply depot
4 marine(s)
@150min/100gas factory
2 helions
tech lab on rax
starport after fact
exchange starport with rax and make a banshee
make 2 more helions in the mean time,
push with 4 helions and 2-3 marines and a banshee
expand

That had nothing to do with his question haha.

Tank/Viking isn't a build order, it's a unit composition that is quite frankly terrible until you get ALOT. The main problem with it is obviously the immobillity, and tanks cede all map control to marauders, since in the earlygame marauders absolutely demolish tanks forcing the tank/viking player to turtle up at his natural.

Going for a mobility based army that transitions wayyy later into tank/viking seems to work out better. Then whoever has more gas will win the game with a higher viking count which allows for battle cruiser production.

Superbabo right as usual.

It's tank/marauder(few marines)->tank vikings->vikings/BC, but the game usually ends after marauders own tanks trying to go siege mode.
