I'm a decently ranked Silver player so keep in mind I'm clearly not using particularly sophisticated strats in these matchups.

I used Terran mostly and I feel really confident vs. Z or T. However, vs Protoss it seems like all my opponent has to do is mass a ton of Stalkers and fight me off. My base strat is rines, tanks, drops. I usually deviate from that based on what my opponent is doing.

However, even when I see my opponent is pumping Stalkers, I don't really know what counters it. Is there a terran unit that can pwn mass stalkers easiily? Clearly my 'rines/tanks isn't working.

Thanks.

ravens help a lot. One PDD can render a huge number of stalkers useless temporarily.

I haven' tried that. My reluctance to use Ravens is because it'd be heavily conceding my strat to counter my opponent (which might just be necessary). But I hate throwing that much at one unit that doesn't really seem to have a game-changing aspect.

If you can spread out your tanks too, it may help. I've defeated many mass stalkers this way, although losing a few tanks with a couple blinks. It helps to get them to fight you on your terms (positioning, etc.) With the ravens, one or two only, it works even better

A reasonable Marine/Marauder/Ghost army does just fine against mass stalkers, early on. This is pretty good all the way until they tech to coloxen or something. Remember to land EMPs if you see templar.

So you don't want to "concede your strat" and counter your opponent? That's the game of starcraft.. Of course it's necessary.
You go marines / tanks / dropships. Get a techlab at the starport and add 1 or 2 ravens. It's not even that big of a change.
It is not enough to conquer; one must learn to seduce.

Just make Marauders and ignore the above posts (seriously, ghosts? Marines?). Marauders beat stalkers in equal amounts and are cheaper.

PDD + Marauders is even better.

Marine, Marauder & Medivac (MMM) ball + stim. You should be able to get to low plat with just that.

Straight Marauders sounds like a great way to get raped by Protoss air.

Please, why don't you try ghosts before judging? :/
One emp can cut down shield of up to 5-6 stalkers in an instant and leave the stalkers defenseless

If you want to get better, ignore this post. Marauders fail hard in tvp against good toss early game.

really? in my experience, maurauders properly microed are quite effective early game tvp with the concussive shell research. its cake to kite zealots, and marauders are relatively cost effective against stalkers. that said, my standard tvp involves pumping rines off a single reactor and going for tanks and either vikings or a raven early game, thanks to the popularity of void ray rushing. then transition into good old ghostmech

They aren't versatile enough to deal with the variety of protoss openings. All the best tvp replays i've watched (particularly from korean terrans) skip marauders at the start and oftentimes transition into them later.

This i stop using them so often at the start, VR are a pain in the ass when you have more mauraders and few marines... also marine ghost does very well vs P early army and counter very well VR and Inmortal transition

If you're facing Stalker sentry stick with your normal build you outlined but add in some Ghosts with cloak. You will want to have them cloaked when you go for the drop, and then use them for EMP, get the back in the drop ship and out of there as soon as they do their job. Basically you will need about 5 of 6 to really affect a mass-Stalker army, but if you place your EMPs correctly your tanks can obliterate most of his army in just one or two volleys. I don't play Terran usually, but I've seen Drop-ship Ghosts work very well against my Stalkers (obviously forcing me to change my build up), even with Observers.

Huh, Dropship ghosts sounds cool, but that's a bit micro-heavy and I can't imagine it being a tremendous improvement on just keeping them in the back of the ball.

I wonder if iEchoic loves void rays as much as void rays love his marauder PDD combo.
