Is there any plan to increase incentivizes for players to split up their armies in the mid/late game, os are you guys more satifised with working on unit vs unit interactions and macro mechanics?

A good deal of that emerges from map design or already exists when you have low supply/mobile units. That said, we have given Protoss a really solid way to encourage splits and feints not only with the non-unique MSC, but also adding Hallu to the nexus. It is strange, but the simple fact you can sacrifice chrono boosts to feint out opponents with an army that doesn't exist. or create fake Prisms allows Protoss a great deal more flexability in harass and multipronged attack paths. Currently it creates said units at target pylon.

Since we couldn't make static defense work as you wanted, giving races different tools to harass in a multi-pronged fashion seems to be the the way to go.

I've an idea.
Host a tourney with this mod.
You'd get exposure.
A build is not a guess, an estimation or a hunch, a feeling, or a foolish intuition. A build is a dependable, unwavering, unarguably accurate, portrayer of your ambition.

That would be awesome. In case anyone remembers the "FRB grand tournament", something similiar would be very interesting to see for this mod. I'm really really curious on how it plays out, because just reading through the changes they sound just so on the spot to me. I like how you try to correct a lot of SC2's shortcomings, but without just reproducing BW. Too bad I suck as a player, or I'd play it for sure.

Who would host that thing?
Can ItWhoSpeaks stream and cast?
What would the prize be?

We are looking into a tourney. The issue is those cost money, and we frankly don't have a lot of that. We are trying to reach out to the community to learn how to organize and fund a project like that. If anyone has any advise or pointers, just PM me.

Tournaments need cash??
Gem League/ThSL don't.
Just mail a cool thing.

If we do a tourney with pros, we will need money. I have been asking around since January and that seems to be the case. Professionals eat what they kill, and with no money to compensate them for their time, it's hard for any of them to justify the effort, even if it is for a good cause.
Edit:
I am not sure if that was a clever troll or not. If it was hats off to you. Brood War tourneys are not relevant in the SC2 scene. Additionally, if we were to produce a hype trailer with the production value of Gem League and then say "guys, we can "fix" sc2 guys!" We would be laughed out of the building. Either we do this at a level that commands respect reserved for professional services or we don't do it at all. We simply can't afford to half-ass something like this. Which is why you haven't heard much from us recently.

A tourney for pros...?
You know what I'd rather see?
A tourney for joes.

Don't use top tier pros.
Find people who play for fun.

Just stumbled upon this thread, and I don't know if this is where suggestions are put... but I'll do it anyways.

One balance idea would to be to make marines slightly larger. This would have numerous effects:

1. Less damage per square foot. This means that marines do WORSE as a giant deathball, so battles last longer. Additionally, they do WORSE against expensive ranged units like carriers, tempests, immortals, hydras, etc.
2. They do WORSE against melee units as well. This is because you could have 3 zerglings on a marine instead of 2 or something like that, since they're bigger and more zerglings can get surface area on them.
3. However, they do BETTER against AOE damage - banelings, tanks, void rays, colossi. This is because less of them fit into the AOE.

What effect does this have? MORE SOFT COUNTERS (marines vs carriers, marines vs zerglings) and LESS HARD COUNTERS (marines vs colossi, marines vs tanks). Any thoughts?

This..... seems like way too easy a fix.
Its really intuitive and obvious that I have never really considered it.
I do think that even if it doesn't produce expected results, it's at least worth play-testing a bit.

This sounds excellent, I've been hoping for this exact change for a long time now.

As a general comment, so pumped about this project. Wish I had enough time to try it out! If you all have a tournament or anything definitely let me know, I'll tell everyone I know

The only thing that is worrisome is how it works with the rest of bio and visual language of the game. We are carefully exploring this change with the Zealot.

I tried to get into it today, but I had to wait about half an hour between games. Even in the TL group I couldn't find any practice partners. There was only one person in the onegoal chat the whole day, and he was afk the whole time. Is there an irc chat that I overlooked or are there just very few people playing it? It would be great to have a dedicated onegoal practice partners thread so people can find each other.
I think it's kind of cool to have this, but it's too hard to find people playing it to see myself actually getting to the point where I could possibly add anything to the discussion.

StaraCroft

Thanks for the feedback. Here is the situation:
Currently, my rig is undergoing a slow motherboard failure and it will be some time before I can get it replaced. The team is comprised mostly of students, so our participation is limited by our schedules. (I work a 40 hour week myself) I used to be able to spend a great deal more time online due to time off from work, and a functioning rig. Alas, life isn't as generous as it once was and I must make due with the cards I have been dealt. If you would like to set up a playdate, I can see about getting you a series of players to play with you.

This is nearing the end of our slow period leading up to Patch 3. We are crossing our I's and dotting our Ts to make sure this is a top quality patch. When it hits arcade, there will be an influx of new players (hopefully) and the time will go down. Till then, I am happy to help.
Reflection and Respect.
