Yeah I once made a map with around 60 neutral units. Lagged quite a bit. But just try and you'll see.

In the case of your "crowd" (i suppose it's for a crowd watching the match )
If the large number of "units" do not interact with the players/matter to the game (just for "show"), it would work.

If you want it for multiplayer and you are just starting out,
as FlopTurnReaver advised, go try it out straight up on bliznet..
if it's unplayable and you want it bad enough, then get into triggering

"Triggers" you wrote would populate your crowd
mele initialization (launch of the game):
create "man in crowd"/make him yell
create "woman in crowd"/make her come her hair, bored
create "hot dog vendor" / make man choose between the hot dog and the woman
etc
several types of "actors" ("X" different models in your crowd) would play out their scene without being actual units interacting "normally".
(units are in fact a combination of actors:"x" model "x" unit "x" animations etc...)

It's gonna take some time

How to do it?
Meet the actors in depth, they are triggers in themselves, you would have to populate your "spectators area" with "models" instead of units... once you've learned how to..

Sorry, i would have said precisely how to do it if i knew precisely...

When I load a custom map (drag map file to sc2.exe) the game skips the login process so I cant use my custom hotkeys.

How do I run a map and connect to battlenet at the same time? The map is designed to be offline practise so i need to be able to use my normal controls.

EDIT: nevermind, i worked it out.

in case anyone else needs to know:
copy from -> My Documents > Starcraft II > Accounts > your account > Hotkeys
paste into -> My Documents > Starcraft II > Hotkeys

Is there any easy way to put out the 8 minerals to get perfect length from the CC/Nexus/Hatch? I have a few cool maps but i don't know how to do this.

Is it possible to have bridges between two raised areas (such as a bridge spanning the mains in Xel'naga Caverns (just an example, haha)) that can be walked on, while allowing units to move underneath the bridge as well?

Actually, is there any way to have multiple levels of elevation at any one spot? D:

Just go to Starcraft 2 Liquipedia, check out some already existing maps and rebuild a mineral line you like. If you're really lazy you can just download a Blizzard map in the editor and copy it from there.

how can i set the camera options to a normal melee multiplayer map ?

i made a map i quite like, but the camera is too high an if i going to place a pylon, it shows me that the power field ist above the pylon ... the map was a shit ton of work and i dont get to fix that bug

please help me

What is the meaning of libNtve_gf_?

I have libNtve_gf_SetPlayerGroupAlliance(PlayerGroupActive(), 1); in my map script but it only compiles if I remove libNtve_gf_

Am I missing something?

Is there a downside to having all production facilities on one hotkey + tabbing? It's what I feel most comfortable with, but I cant help but think it might have me missing some cycles on factories+starports.

What is a splat actor? I followed a tutorial requesting to copy a pylon and select the pylon actor and the pylon splat actor. I don't understand what a spalt actor does and why I need it.

A "splat acter" is the "curser effect" that appears when you use an AOE spell like fungal growth or psionic storm.(The thing showing you what it will hit)
I'm trying to learn how to play tetris A type music by lowering/raising my Supply Depots.

I know you can copy terrain (using select special for better accuracy) and then paste it and rotate it with numpad /*. But that seems not to be a very pleasing way, at least not when you do this very often. I mean copying half or a fourth of the map, if your map is a mirrormap (like Xel naga caverns or taldarim altar). Best would be, if one could write a script, but I don't think you can modify terrain with scripts.
Is there a more sufficient or easier way to mirror a map?

I think that is the wrong thread, but if you scout it, you close off your wall in and then repair the depots and wait for the marine. If they come into your base, you have to fight with SCVs and protect your marines from dying, maybe set up a bunker at your minerals.
