It is actually a sand texture with white lights, dark water for contrast, and a title that makes it snow and ice ;p Two additional maps were added. They offer a little more variety though they have not been balanced as throughly as the previous maps. Thanks again for the support and im still interested in finding someone to throw together a loading screen img, their name included.

take a look on my maps, even they are 99% 4players maps, you can have an idea on these fluid paths. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=134131 i heard that blizzard will add some tilesets in the final release, i believe snow tileset is one of them :o

I remember watching the pregression of your maps in the past, at least the progression of their releases. I kept a close eye because I think you inspire a lot of style in the map-making community and some of the maps, including but not limited to Might Arena, Patience Arena, and Chocolate Cake are picture perfect ladder maps. I also believe, however, that SC2 has introduced an organic element to map outlay that SC1 did not have. I think we can make very organic feeling maps but maintain balance and symmetry at the same time. Some of the maps included do indeed suffer from some balance issues, however i have found that the only way to really balance a map is actually including in it all imbalances. That is to say including elements that all races benefit from in the stead of trying to eliminate elements that specific races benefit from. All the maps above, save Mayday are balanced in openness and 100% symmetrical. Though fluid pathing is a big issue, it might be relative to the style of the map.

My friend and I were discussing how the Abandon one looks pretty favorable for Terran (bridges and island expos), but definitely looking forward to trying a few of these out! You definitely did a great job. Yea i had a friend bring up a similiar point. The gold, for example, is indeed much easier for a Terran to hold rather than lets say a Zerg, however, the back door will give a terran who is concentrating on holding the bridges hell. Like the post above this one, i wanted to focus balance on actual imbalance. I dont believe a map can be 100% balanced through the exclusion of imbalances. The variety of play styles between the 3 races are to great. Some maps will favor a Terran tech for example, but that doesnt mean that the map does not favor a counter zerg style of play either.

I like the look of Uros Island - lots of open areas which should make for fun battles with flanking opportunities.
