DRACO VS NONY SPOILERS!!! Now you can't get mad at me.
Poll: Bigger tech mistake? (Vote): Stork forgetting goon range vs bisu (Vote): Nony forgetting Psi Storm vs Draco
In game 2 Nony forgot Psi Storm tech. He made a templar drop in Draco's nat and, to paraphrase Day9: "How horrible for that Templar to fly in to Draco's nat, high five all those probes, and have to fly home."
Maybe it wasn't a game breaker, but it had to hurt mentally. I don't know about you but I feel like Nony was thrown off the whole series. This definitely seemed to be a tipping point for him.
But was it bigger than Stork famously forgetting goon range in a final match vs Bisu?

Draco winning 3 to 0 is not depending on a single mistake ... there was a clear show of superiority, as Draco said "every minute of game that passed my chances of winning were increasing" or something like that
Anyway, i voted for Stork mistake, which was surely bigger and more determinating in a very close serie!!!

I thought it was made clear that Stork's demise had to do more with his lack of upgrades (armor/attack) as well as large hits to his economy in the early stages of the game, rather than his range upgrade issue.

No range in pvp will pretty much cost you the game. I believe you are incorrect.

where is savior forgetting crack in every game?
also are you sure they forgot to upgrade these things? I never forget upgrading those things but sometimes i click and i dont have enough cash or something like that and i think its done but actually it never started. not really the same thing;)

i think stork's has to be considered bigger since it was game 5 of an MSL final =p.

What was crazy was that Stork won pretty much all the battles even without goon range.

I forgot goon range in one pvp but somehow I didn't notice and my armies just kept dying despite being bigger
such a frustrating mistake

Forgetting goon range is more of a deal than dropping a storm-less templar ; )

under lan latency I've noticed a few times where I clicked on an upgrade when I had more than enough minerals for it go away look back to check on it's progress and it's never started. So you might not even be not having enough minerals if you click on upgrades under LAN for some reason it's finicky so I have to make sure I'm using the hotkeys which I do most of the time anyway.

I'm absolutely sure a player of Nony's caliber (heck, even at C level @ ICCUP) would never forget to upgrade something as vital as storm. Rather, I'm sure in the blazing speed of the action he missed the 'Not enough minerals' or 'Not enough gas' message right right after he clicked on the upgrade icon.

Dropping Templars at least scares the shit out of your opponent, even if they don't do anything.

well, whats missing from the end of quote is the part about not letting out any psi storms, cuz it wouldnt make sense the way you have it now

lol... how can you even compare?

And well, a storm drop wouldn't make as much difference as no range for the whole game.
Besides, [irony]Nony did correct himself right after the blunder, while Stork didn't notice until seeing the replay probably![/irony]

If I saw my opponent drop templars and pick them back up without storming I would laugh and have such a huge boost in confidence. The strom drop is something that required time and energy to put toghether and it was an epic failure. Your opponent would be so pissed off/flustered.The psychological edge it would give I think would be pretty big.

Say you were so fast, but saw the templars dropped and not storm because you were already out of there. Then you'd have to be apprehensive of future storm drops that you may not be so lucky at escaping... Also losing mining time ofc.
