I've never vetoed a map before(Usually say just learn to play the map+get better) but it feels like the only choice for me on King sejong would be to cheese against terran and I don't want to do that. I like overgrowth, both because I like how the maps pathways flows and the extra dynamics of the gold base. Ofc there is a plus that the third is so close by ![]() | ||

Waystation Merry go Round Overgrowth IMO. Really, I think even Overgrowth can grow on me too, there is no map in the pool that strikes me as just outright shit like Yeonsu and Polar night did for so long. | ||

Waystation - fuck this map completely. The long way is just ridiculously big. Rush distance makes anything other than proxies or 3 base a waste. No matter how hard I try, defenders advantage never lets you win on a 2 or 3 base timing. You either win right away or it goes to maxed armies with 10k banks and a million swarm host vipers or a million storm tempests. It becomes a rush to mass ravens. just a terrible way to play. much to big an area to cover. the short version of this map is hilarious. Terran is way overpowered with that short rush distance. Siege your opponents natural so quickly, defend all your bases so easily. | ||

Overgrowth and King Sejong are also pretty fun maps though, I really enjoy playing on both of them. The blizzard map though, well I usually don't veto maps but every game I play on it pushes me closer to vetoing it. | ||

Waystation, though... depending on how the spawns are (and the opponent), I like it or I loathe it. Long spawns - it's okay, but watch out of island shenanigans. Short spawns? Kill me now, and of course there will be island shenanigans. | ||

Waystation has a free island base for Terran or an absurd rush distance which makes scouting difficult in ZvZ and ZvP. Merry Go Round has similar problems as Frost where there's a slight coinflip element in ZvZ. It's okay for ZvT and ZvP though I wish the ramp was a little smaller. Overgrowth is just a really solid good map. It's like a better version of Habitation. | ||

Waystation I don't like the islands are tricksy P/ZvT and if you get TvZ long spawns you're feel pretty screwed. | ||

another example would be alterzim stronghold. 10gate vs 12gate scout. the scout will be too late if it doesn't find him at the first scouting location. the vetoes in tournaments should not only be based on match ups. it should be based on the players play styles or strategies aswell. i see alot of players vetoing the same map in every single tournament because they are facing T or P and they know that it would be a big risk to be playing on that map, since no build is bullet proof ![]() | ||
