The results are finally in after an extended period of deliberation. Factors which went into deciding the result included the skill differential between the players, the creativity of the play, how great the play epitomized the players race, whether the player was Protoss or not and the overall roflmao factor of the game. So without further delay, here are the results:

Outstanding Game: Monkeys_Rule vs Besiger

This game isn't here for creative play, this game is listed here because it is a very awesome game. This game is your typical TvZ on Destination which goes for over 20 minutes - Mass Irradiate, Mass Plague, Mass Swarm, Mass Cows - it was a pleasure to watch this game and I urge you to watch it too. This could possibly be the best game of the entire tournament so be sure to check it out.

Honorable Mention: Oystein for his play vs Clazziquai on Destination

Protoss cheese doesn't come much cheesier than this. Oystein (at 6) opens with a proxy gateway below the bridges of Clazziquai, then rushes in with his probe to delay the building of his barracks for quite some time. The annoying probe then steals Clazziquai's gas, puts down a perfect manner pylon and starts warping in a forge! Fortunately for Clazziquai, he chose to build a second barracks and was able to stave off the savage Protoss' onslaught. He then went all in with his scv/marines where he was utterly decimated by 2 Dragoons and a probe drill - pure Protoss gayness. Oystein only gets an honorable mention here because he was vastly superior to his opponent, and he is Protoss.

[image loading] Third Place - Vasoline73 for his play against AlphaxOmega on Othello

TvZ is a relatively difficult match up to be creative in, so Nuke Rush into BattleCruiser always raises eyebrows when employed effectively. And indeed, Vasoline73 executed this build with surprising ease. He repeatedly nuked poor AlphaxOmega to death and then to top it all off he built a fleet of BattleCruisers, D-Matrix'd them and proceeded to finish him off. It was hilarious, yet so sad at the same time.

[image loading] Second Place - Dead9 for his play against Atrioc on Destination

Dead9 did everything a Terran could possibly do against a Zerg to be annoying - epitomizing the Terran spirit. He opened with the 8 rax of doom, but just fell short of killing the natural hatchery. Not one to let up on the Terran gayness, Dead9 proceeded to harass with a single vulture doing more damage than one would expect of a single vulture. Then threw a wraith in thee for good measure, just to piss Atrioc off that little bit extra. From there he threw in some irradiate, and made notable use of the eraser vessel trick. For his inspired play against an opponent who was around his skill level, Dead9 receives second place!

So who wins first prize? And the ability to set their rank icon to whatever level they feel like? It is....

[image loading] First Place - CrownRoyal for his play against leunal on Othello

This is perhaps the most hilarious game of the entire tournament. CrownRoyal opens with a modern adaptation of the traditional Protoss Stove. The scout does no damage, but the Dark Templar do a decent amount. He then techs to arb off 2 bases and throws in a Dark Archon with mind control for good measure before taking his third. This build order of Stargate -> Scout while Teching Dark Templar -> Expand -> Arbiter + Mind Control shall hence forth be called, in CrownRoyal's honor, "The Royal Stove".

CrownRoyal then abuses his Arbiters to their fullest potential; first recalling inside of leunal's base which deals a nontrivial amount of damage. He also Min Control a stray scouting SCV and uses it to begin building a Terran base of his own at 11. leunal, in the mean time has amassed a sizable army and moves out to attack CrownRoyal - only to have literally half his army frozen solid in the icy confines of Stasis.

However as the ice melts away, CrownRoyal's army is devastated by Siege tanks and his army is wiped out. Without an army to defend himself, leunal pushes harder into CrownRoyal's base while CrownRoyal struggles to rebuild in time. After losing his third, CrownRoyal is able to take out leunals forces using all the wizardry possible in the Protoss arsenal; only to be wiped out by the next wave of reinforcements.

But CrownRoyal was not worried, for his latest weapon had just rolled off the production line - the Protoss Siege Tank!! Combined with the stealth of the mighty Arbiter, these Cloaked Sieged Tanks caused major damage to the outlying expansions of leunal.

leunal responded to this by annihilating the remainder of CrownRoyal's main. With his Protoss brethren firmly destroyed, it was down to CrownRoyal's Terran faction to deal to leunal; but with only a cutesy Sieged-Tank-Recall in his arsenal of tricks remaining, there was not much hope for our dear Protoss warrior.

CrownRoyal was shortly steamrolled by masses of Terran Metal. And then he did what any other Protoss would do; made an excuse, and left without saying gg - epitomizing the true Protoss spirit in every way.

CrownRoyal revived the Stove, and created the Royal Stove. He froze half a Terran army and stole the Terran's technology for his own. He then lost everything, said he should have won, and then left without a gg - a true Protoss warrior!! For your efforts CrownRoyal, you have won the Race Wars for being the quintessential Protoss player!! Congratulations!

You can watch CrownRoyals spectacular display of Protoss mastery here

And that's all folks!! This blotch on TL's otherwise perfect record has been fixed and now no one can complain to me that Race Wars was never finished! The burden has finally been lifted and I am so thankful for that. Thanks to everyone who played, the Zerg Swarm for winning, CrownRoyal for winning the individual award and thanks to everyone for their patience!

Hahahaha, CrownRoyal ftw :D

There were definitely a bunch of really fun games in the pack. I bet it was hard picking just one to win it all.

More protoss should turn tvp into tvt plus arbiters.

The trend starts now!

i was under the impression that each race would have 1 player that would get the icon

anyways game 1 of me and monkeys was better in my opinion (because i won ofc )

do i get some kind of special prize ? Like i can do what i want with kwark or a staff member of my choice for a night ?

EDIT: heres game 1 for those who also wanna see it maybe, its also a pretty long macro fest.
