Match A - Sea vs Light - Zodiac
Match B - Kwanro vs Kal - Blue Storm
Match C - JangBi vs Orion - Blue Storm
Match D - July vs UpMagiC - Zodiac
+ Show Spoiler +
Match A: You gotta feel bad for MBC... Light in particular. It seems each and every season he's either playing against Bisu or Sea, or any other MBC player (met Pusan at WCG Korea last year. And on top of that he's grouped with both Bisu and Sea in the GomTV Invitational). It seems apparent that though these two are pretty close in skill, most people, including the players themselves along with their teammates and coaches, regard Sea as the stronger player. This game showed exactly why. Light didn't do anything too bad in particular... but Sea simply overpowered him. Simple as that. I expect these two to play another, and probably a third close game on thursday.
Match B: Wow Kal. I've watched you play a few times in PL, but I never really gave you much thought. Your win vs sAviOr wasn't as spectacular as it could have been considering most of us were more concerned with sAviOr's slump than your skill, and besides, the map was Katrina. But this game showed some real power. Play like that again, and I think I'll keep a very close eye on you from now on.
As for you mr.Kwanro. You've shown some spectacular ZvT. Now it's time to show your ZvP. There's no offensive creep to try any sneaky sunken rushes, so it comes down to your wit. Show me that your are a sAviOr, a July, a Jaedong... and not a YellOw[ArnC] or Luxury who succeeds vs Terran but falls short to Protosses. (a couple of months ago I would have listed Jaedong on the YarnC/Lux list but his recent performance has made me a believer).
Match C: JangBi's a tricky little guy. He performs spectacular at times, and then at other times he crumbles like a pile of a playing cards. His game vs Orion was pretty impressive though. Very nice use of splash damage, and extremely well executed harrasses to keep the zerg on his toes. I'm not to sure what I think of Orion yet, so I'll reserve any additional comment on this guy until I see more games.
Match D: It is no secret that UpMagiC, though often compared to the Emperor, has a weak TvZ. The guy even admits that his TvZ needs work in his interviews. Yet this game vs July didn't seem all too bad. Infact it seemed pretty strong to me. But perhaps that's just a testament at how bad July played. Sorry July, but that game was pretty bad to watch. I almost didn't even put it in my highlight video because it was so bad. I have nothing more to say, excpet that I expect to see a much different July on Thursday.
