World Cyber Games US Finals will be held at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida on September 14 to 16th. The top StarCraft players in the United States will be vying for a spot to play against the best players around the world at the WCG Grand Finals at Qwest Field in Seattle, Washington this October 4 to 7.
The tournament format starts off in two groups. The top two players from each group move on to a double elimination bracket. The top two players from double elimination move on to WCG Grand Finals. Groups are as follows:
Group A:
Tyler Wasieleski (Nony)
Jacob Winstead (LzGameR)
Adolfo Castillo (Evade)
Geoff Robinson (Incontrol)
Alex Brola (Skew)
Group B:
Dan Stemkoski (Artosis)
Dhinesh Kumar Devanathan (Nesh)
Gregory Fields (Idra)
Thomas Whittier (Froz)
Daniel Eidson (Nyoken)
Players will be staying at the Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando. Each player will also be receiving one all-park pass good for 7 consecutive days from the first time of use.
Tickets for WCG Attendees can be purchased through this link: http://www.universalorlando.com/minisite/world_cyber_games.html. With this ticket, anyone can watch games as well as enjoy admission to Universal Studios Florida and/or Islands of Adventure.
The prize breakdown for StarCraft is as follows: $2,000 in cash and $1,000 Circuit City gift certificate. Members of Team USA will receive an all-expenses paid trip to Seattle for the Grand Final, including airfare, hotel, meal allowance and more, plus a Team USA uniform jacket and other perks.

Hm, I guess inControl can prove to be hard for Nony, MU being PvZ and both strong with their races.
I think Nony and inC make it out of group A and Idra and Artosis from group B, although I'm not sure on Idras TvT.

well there is one US Open player in each. then there are 2 first place finishers from regionals, and 2 second place finishers from regionals in each group. i'd imagine people were just placed randomly while staying within that seeding scheme.
btw nobody has mentioned that group 2 gets the only stage match for BW in the entire event :o

didn't you guys get the e-mail with the spreadsheet attached to it? it has a detailed schedule including which matches will be on the stage. WC3 and SC are having finals at the same time, but WC3 gets the stage :o
need for speed, AOE, and tony hawk don't get any stage matches. so i guess SC is in the middle. not good enough for finals, but not so bad as to get none

It's cuz Counte Strike, that shit takes soo long to finish.
If there wasn't any CS stage matches, there would be more time for the good games to be up there.

i dont know why CS is even getting stage match's this year... 90% of the teams are like 2nd rate cs teams due to the good american cs teams cant play in wcg becasue of there league there in~

to be honest, the good american CS-teams are far more fun to watch than a lot of TvT games in group B  much more speed in CS these days, sad but true!
