Thats perfectly in his rights. I personally think as well that no SEA player is specially favored to advance in their group (though I except 1-2 to upset). SEA players (besides moonglade) have almost never performed well internationally, so waxangels predictions are not too far off. At last years IEM for SEA, PIG and iaguz both didnt win a single game. At BWC Mafia went 0-4. At MLG, only moonglade made a splash. There is the occasional success story (Mafia beating Lucifron), and there is definite hope for another, probably bigger one. waxangel is totally not BM vs SEA in his article, more so comments from players like iaguz and deth, which is really disappointing to see. Some people over-reacted for sure but to say Wax was not rude to the entire SEA scene is pretty stupid. PiG 2-1 VortiX in other news ![]()

Keep up the tone, mate. It's doing wonders for your cause. It's about the double standard in the article. You can't call the person who 2-0'ed the "Terran hope" in this tournament a no-hoper. It doesn't make sense. It's like the open bracket results weren't taken into consideration in the preview article for the group stage, which makes no sense. Mafia also held KR GM Rank 1 for awhile, you impressed yet? These aren't bottom-feeders. If that's what you call a bottom-feeder, good for you, but that doesn't change the fact that the article wasn't well researched. GM Rank 1 in Korea? Was this the midnight after GM unlocked? LMFAO I'm surprised he didn't win a GSL already... Oh wait, he can't even qualify for Code A? Get real chief. You can easily call one of three terrans the "Terran Hope". It indicates the sparsity of Terrans in the tournament rather than the legitimacy of the player winning. Also a single match set doesn't make a player favored over the other. If you don't call players that can't make Code A bottom feeders, who do you call bottom feeders?

Thats certainly true as well, that why I especially mentioned the cases when they attended (and didnt do well). He wasnt betting on them, but he exactly mentioned that possibility.

If you don't call players that can't make Code A bottom feeders, who do you call bottom feeders? Isn't this the exact attitude we are trying to stamp out. Even Carmac himself said he wants better player exposure and more people than those select few at the very top to get their names out there. It doesn't matter who's better, it's about the support. It's about the storyline, but you only want the same premium names in the spotlight. It's about creating interest in the community, but you continue to downplay the regional players and create zero interest or hype for them. There are a LOT of people from the region watching and supporting IEM Singapore. We are here through thick and thin - however it hurts and get's really depressing when people outside our region keep stereotyping our players and keep driving that tired old stigma on and on. How do you think the players feel? Personally I would have liked to hear more about the WCS Singapore runner up Yekke, who narrowly lost to Zenio in the open bracket. I thought he played really well, but no one cares and because he gets no mention, tomorrow he will be forgotten.

He's effectively saying, "The tournament is going to be bad because IEM allows SEA players to compete." EDIT: I'd just like to re-iterate that we're not oblivious to where we stand among the rest of the world. We're not delusional in thinking our players are championship material, but we're not the bottom of the barrel either. We just want to be treated and included as equals. Americans and Europeans don't suffer from the stigma we do. For us, skill and accomplishments are irrelevant. People are quick to dismiss us because of our geographic location. It's exhausting.

That's because there's a competitive difference between the regions, and always has been. There are a handful of SEA players who can make an international showing, but they don't have the results to sway opinions (compared to how Sen does for Taiwan).

The closing statement can really be interpreted badly, but its also pretty weird. At WCS we had 5 different regions in the quarterfinals, some suprises like Killer and Suppy, so that does advertise seeds for all regions.

But hey, they may pass the group play of a major tournament someday. I don't want to be rude, but you SEA spectators are always so butthurt when it comes to your players. They are quite good, but no, MaFia doesn't worth VortiX. Stop with that.
