Artosis however is a total baller, perhaps TL should get someone more like him to do this sort of shit, since Waxangel has no idea clearly.

It isn't like he talks up the Koreans like they are unbeatable, MC has been identified as one of them that may under-perform. The SEA players have no significant accomplishments that are noteworthy, especially for the TL audience that are used to the level of play like Taeja, Sea, Stephano, and DRG. This tournament isn't even worth a write-up except for the name value of IEM, and the players have very few if any significant results. The level of play would be higher watching a low-GM on KR ladder than this IEM. Why would anyone watch IEM over IPL? EDIT: On November 23 2012 12:13 mGGDrGooSe wrote: Oh please. You expected a higher quality post from TL? The only place with a worse signal-to-noise ratio is reddit. Our guys repeatedly beat Kr, NA, and Euro pros on ladder and in online tourneys. Unfortunately, SC2 fanboys only care about offline results, which will come in time. It just kinda unfortunate that IEM condone this level of sub-par writing and idiocy (https://twitter.com/IEM/status/271807020594765825). No wonder people are turning off from the major tourneys recently if this is level professionalism they scrape up. SEA players consistently beating tier 1 Koreans? Offline tournaments mean less than online tournaments? Great logic there.

artosis wrote a much more informed piece because he actually knows the players hes talking about. He doesn't generalise them into one lump of bad players even for the players he doesnt know yet (e.g yekke). please spotlight that article instead. http://scdojo.tumblr.com/post/36325404251/why-you-should-check-out-iem-singapore

So Mafia 2-0'ing Lucifron in the open bracket, a player who Waxangel cites as the lone Terran hope, is not an accomplishment? Pig reaching the semis of Code A qualifiers isn't an accomplishment? Is that enough for the "TL audience"? Or is this you and the author being severely uninformed?

Foreign zerg beating a foreign terran, ONCE. 2. Foreign zerg ALMOST qualifying for a Korean tournament. Sounds very impressive. Please tell me more. lol There is a difference between being informed and obsessing over bottom feeders.

It's about the double standard in the article. You can't call the person who 2-0'ed the "Terran hope" in this tournament a no-hoper. It doesn't make sense. It's like the open bracket results weren't taken into consideration in the preview article for the group stage, which makes no sense. Mafia also held KR GM Rank 1 for awhile, you impressed yet? These aren't bottom-feeders. If that's what you call a bottom-feeder, good for you, but that doesn't change the fact that the article wasn't well researched.

But that wasnt waxangels intention. He just did a normal preview like he always does. Thats perfectly in his rights. I personally think as well that no SEA player is specially favored to advance in their group (though I except 1-2 to upset). SEA players (besides moonglade) have almost never performed well internationally, so waxangels predictions are not too far off. At last years IEM for SEA, PIG and iaguz both didnt win a single game. At BWC Mafia went 0-4. At MLG, only moonglade made a splash. There is the occasional success story (Mafia beating Lucifron), and there is definite hope for another, probably bigger one. waxangel is totally not BM vs SEA in his article, more so comments from players like iaguz and deth, which is really disappointing to see.
