Yeah for me it all comes down to a terrible design issue that allows such an easy tech path, I don't know how Blizzard can get out of it -.-
That easy tech path and the fact that everything is good along this tech path (compared to BW)...
What is concerning is the slowish pace at which Blizzard addresses the balance between all three races. As far as I'm concerned the clock is really ticking here.
Recently (last month or two) there is a consensus that GSL has simply gotten boring. It's the same match-up every single time and the entire tournament is dominated by Terrans.
A boring sporting event drives away spectators..which will drive away advertisers...which will deplete sponsorship dollars...which will drive away pro-gamers (or end their careers).
Blizzard has a lot to gain by quickly and intelligently addressing the balance issues. Positioning SC2 as THE E-sport game will benefit them greatly.
Not only do they get huge revenues from selling the game..They will open up new revenue streams by licensing broadcasting rights...then they make even more money by releasing updates to the game..you know..updating the graphics engine etc..
But this can't happen without a balanced game.

did you watched BW not so long ago? Only 1 race? Only mirror matchups? Mirror matchup final? It happens.
