Probably because IdrA is bad mannered, and in the Korean culture and society, mannerisms go a long way. A very long way. Idra will never deserve the respect from the Koreans in regards to manners.

I love watching both of these guys play (With Idra and Ret being my favorite players overall).
Good luck to Jinro moving forward, I'll be rooting for him!
Excited to see more Team Liquid and EG in GSL 4!

Still no TL beanies in store?!? good luck jinro in ro16!

Out of the two, it's so much easier to be a fan of Jinro..

A lot of AMAZING players have been knocked out really early.
Not saying Idra IS the best... but he's played in 3 straight GSLs, qualifying against the best of the best and winning at least 1 game in each tournament. When you consider that the GSL is a tournament for the best in the entire world... losing to just about any RO32 participant is not difficult. Especially in a game like SC2 where the winner of a match is often very surprising.
So I'll continue to believe that Idra IS one of the best... and will only get better as he learns from his mistakes. Looking forward to seeing him play in future GSLs (because... you know.. he has code S. Something *cough* very easy to get. *cough*).
Oh... and these crappy maps and poor spawn placements certainly do not help...

Can't wait for Jinro's match. Definitely setting the alarm for that. GSL, coffee, a pwnage at 3am!

Yeah right! How can one argue with Idra's consistency and the fact that he recognizes that the Koreans don't necessarily like him very much.
He is the Kanye of Starcraft 2, a major difference being that Idra is actually intelligent with worthwhile opinions. I cheer for Idra and feel for him in his frustrating defeats.

Thanks for the fast interviews. :D

his loses in gsl2 and 3 are excusable, yes. but they still dont back up the claim of being one of the best. i personally interpret "one of the best" as something like top 10 or top 20 players in the world, not top 60 or so which idra is, resultswise. (he probably is easily top 30 in terms of skill, but i was talking about results...)
but when he talks about more or less only fruitdealer standing between him and the title after winning in the ro32, then getting outclassed in the next round by an opponent who himself was outclassed by the eventual winner, i can only conclude that at the time of gsl2, nestea was at least 2 classes better than idra at zvz. kinda cocky to talk about one´s great chances of winning it all after the ro32 when you are in fact brutally outclassed in at least one of the 3 matchups by several other contenders.
some more humility sometimes would fit him well imho.

How exactly do you come to the conclusion his results make him top 60? Please, explain. Also please explain how he can be S class (top 32 in gsl) with his results placing him at 60.

CHINROOOOOOO!!!!!!! "Hot and Dangerous" - Ke$ha hahaha. Time to make a silly cheerful.
Placement isn't relative to skill. IdrA got really unlucky with that close spawn on Metal, not to take away from MvP for the flawless timing push. If anything, he's the most consistent player in the GSL qualifying for all 3. Consistency > "Flash in the pan" - IdrA.
For now it's all about the Jinro Beanie of +9001 skill. The beanie really has the Emperor's brain in it. Avenge him!
*edit* @Ggrrg - Exactly LOL.. I have a ton of work for mid-terms and I should probably be down there all day tomorrow to work... but gots to stay up to watch Jinro. God help me lol >_<

in the 3rd game IdrA wasnt focus and he was nervous a bit imo.. fortunatley he didnt rage quit :p
|
Screw you, university! I'm staying home and watching Jinro! Jinro fighting!
|
Great interviews. Congratulations to Jinro but I'm still bummed about Idra getting knocked out
|
If anyone here doubts that IdrA is one of the best foreigners, let me remind you he already is class S. The ONLY foreigner to be class S, and no matter who also gets it (C'mon Jinro!) he'll always be the first to do so. He's already cemented himself in the early history for Sc2, for however long this game goes on for.
On a note more related to the thread; Isn't it so refreshing to see a macro Terran succeed as well as Jinro has? Sure he's still turtling, but he expands enough to force zerg to expand many more times, scouts the hatches and snipes them. His game 2 win was so exaggerated, as he had the clear advantage to push in the last 5 minutes and he probably would have won. Trust an ex-BW player to sit on a lead, macro up, then force an all-in when Moon got so far behind.

So happy to see Jinro do well, I hope he continues to do well.

That match on Scrap Station was just beautiful!

When was the EG house revealed?
I've only heard about EGs "big korean plans" mentioned before I read this, but always assumed it was a team house maybe I've heard it in SotG.
