night 1 I almost protected softer (no lie); night 2 I thought about protecting Koopie instead of Midori for a bit till the teks thing; night 3 I almost protected Judge after my post about me protecting Foolishness. Medic is fucking hard. | ||

Anyways I didn't say much after that since everyone was attacking Shikyo and I wasn't here for the beginning of that so I didn't want to get involved. And don't ask about the hits x_x. | ||

ygd, it's really hard to notice bullshit connections, This is why I didn't read clue posts, especially before day 3/4. In retrospect I said after the night 1 hits that mafia took out people who did clue analysis, then on day 2 we get 2 mafia (ydg and Midori) popping in to give us clue analysis? I missed that entirely. | ||

Since this was a beginner game, I tried to avoid intentional red herrings. Instead, I would put some things in the post that tied to the dying person and some things in the post that tied to the killer so that red herrings could hopefully be weeded out by seeing what was being used to characterize the killed vs. the killer. In fact, most of my paragraphs followed a formula of a few sentences about the victim and then a few sentences about the killer. Unfortunately for the town, few people caught on to this in individual posts and no one seemed to see it as a pattern. I also made the clues intentionally easy, after Day 1 at least (although one of my day 1 clues was successfully solved, though as a alternate solution listed as 2nd or 3rd most likely, and another Day 1 clue location was found). Day 1: Pyrrhuloxia's killer was Pawsom. The red and gray cardinal reference obviously is about me. The coffee / drumstick part is a joke about decafchicken. When I googled Pawsom, the first thing that came up was a WoW Armory profile that was for a character below level 10, so I was thrown off of a floor of the building that was below the 10th level. Qatol's killer was l10f. The archery references are to Qatol (he was mafia in a recent game and all of his clues were about archery). The word "crossed" was used to subtly hint at the "I believe" in his profile. LTT's killer was Phelix. The reference to L and TT (the KHAN captain) are to LTT, so are the references to the Erlend Loe novel (L) and the Audi TT. I used the word "wave" to describe the glass breaking as a reference to the verb "spray" in Phelix's profile because they are both water related verbs being used in metaphorical ways. Day 2: Jimtudor's killer was chaoser. The first two sentences of the post are just about jimtudor's role of bodyguard and the fact that he barely lost the election. In chaoser's profile there is a passage that seems to suggest that his IM name is Krimson. I googled Krimson and the first result was a line of very colorful ties. Softer's killer was wurm. Nothing in this passage really points to Softer. Wurm's profile mentions a towel, and this is what he used to whip Softer in the back. | ||
