Blitz Format:
This game's dayphases will be played in the breaks in-between games. The first dayphase will last for four in-between-game breaks. Dayphase parts (when voting and primary discussion is going on) range from when gg is typed to when the next game starts (usually ~ 6 minutes); times 4 amounts to roughly 25 minutes discussion and voting time per day.
The number of dayphases played will be the initial number of mafia, after which the remaining town players and the dead will PM me their educated guess as to the identities of the members of the mafia. After the final nightphase, if the living townies who guessed correctly outnumber the mafia players left alive then town wins.
Voting:
The preferred voting convention is for you to announce your vote in this thread with a post, then right-click copy the link from the upper-right corner of that post and hyperlink the name of the player, like so:

Vote Kaley
in the voting thread. You should announce and link an unvote as well.
Rules
Standard TL Mafia, site-wide and common-sense rules apply; I could list all the faux-pas, instead I ask you to preemptively do an imaginary walkthrough of the game, and to use reason to get a sense of what would ruin it.
You'll be aligned with either Town, the uninformed majority, or the Mafia - who know who the mafia are.
The game begins with a dayphase (Day 1) right after MisO GGs. Players congregate here, the designated voting thread ( & in the LR? why not), to establish which player to remove from the game.
Upon that player being chosen to leave us on Day 1's twilight, his or her role and alignment will be revealed, and the nightphase commences, whereby discussion may continue, but more importantly the members of the mafia decide on who to use their nightkill on, attempting to remove that player, and succeeding unless it's the veteran who can block 1 killpoint or the target gets saved by a doctor.
If there is a detective in the game he or she will try to find out whether their target is aligned with the mafia by sending in a check to me.
With regard to strategy and tactics, there is no established status quo on how to play, yet. There are various opinions and approaches, but unfairness is not among them.
Game setup information:
This is a mafia game for ? players. A minimum of 2 players will be randomly selected as mafia.
The town's win condition:
The town wins when all mafia are eliminated.
The mafia's win condition:
The mafia wins if the number of mafia players alive is equal or greater to the number of town players alive and town night actions cannot reverse this.
When a player dies in the game, the player's alignment (which team the player wins with) and role will be revealed. This reveal is guaranteed to be accurate.
This game uses a semi-open setup. The possible roles are listed below, but the exact number will remain hidden. All roles are not guaranteed to be present.

You have no special abilities, but your voice and your vote are just as important as anyone else's. You win with the town.
Town Doctor
http://www.teamliquid.net/blogs/537011-collection-of-preferences-and-feature-requests#tt
Every night, you may choose a player other than yourself to protect. You will visit the player, and if the mafia attempt to kill a player you are protecting on the same night, the kill will fail. Neither you nor the target will be notified if you prevent a kill. You win with the town.
Town Vigilante
Ultimate Balancing via a League of Testers who strive for providing superlative and Equal Amount of Dedication To All Facets Δ
+ Show Spoiler +
Involves setting up a workshop with an identical, optimal training environment for highly suitable, dedicated and disciplined individuals to make their first contact with the game, grow their skill and duke it out, focusing on maximum long-term proficiency, spread out equally throughout races, ultimately reaching an intelligent conclusion on balance, suggesting sensible changes, adapting, rinse and repeat for a couple of decades.
Once per game, at night, you may select a player to kill. That player is shot overnight and dies at the start of the next day. If your target was also shot by mafia, or was protected by a doctor or veteran status, your bullet is lost. If you were roleblocked, you don't use your bullet and can try againt he next night. You win with the town.
Town Veteran
http://www.teamliquid.net/blogs/537011-collection-of-preferences-and-feature-requests#multi
You have a bulletproof vest that can absorb one bullet. This means you need to be shot twice in order to die: once to destroy the vest, once to kill you. If you are roleblocked, however, your bulletproof vest doesn't work that night. You win with the town.
Town Cop / Detective
Solo/Archon Full Control Practice Game Mode Δ with (among other things) Build-Indicating Overlay Δ
+ Show Spoiler +
Control all (also the opposite players') units and buildings, with the possibility to overwrite/queue up actions on the timeline.
Forthcoming, will have you playing the game on a high level ASAP. Can be scheduled to start new or from a certain point in a replay.
Easily configurable build-order timing-prompts and selective, information-gathering alerts can be set to appear automatically, to tweak the training simulation. All relevant info hassle-free fitted on the screen via an into-cross/parallel-view-3d-splitting tree of overlays, its appearance bound to a lock-key, Caps for example, with mouse-reactive manipulation.
When the overlay is hidden, interface-wise the field of view remains the same (800x600 remastered equivalent) while the rest is either halved in width and duplicated on the opposite side, with the command tab removed/faded out to make room for a vertically elongated selection tab, or stays the same and simply alternates based on which player's assets are currently selected.
Inject maneuverability demos and key & cursor/click analysis for easy and quick learning and practice/rehearsal of micro techniques and demanding situations.
