The silence in the hallway was broken by the sound of boots hitting the metal floor. ”Klang Klang” Tumblewood caught sight of a shadow in the edge of his eye from the engine room.

“Hey, who’s there” Tumblewood called, his voice echoed across the bulk of the ship with no response. That was very weird according Smiths memory. He muttered to himself:

“No one should be down here in this part of the ship besides me.”

Tumblewoodstood up from his tinkering and moved to the closes radio port on the bulkhead while watching for the shadow, it was gone.

“Hey, bridge is there someone else down here in this sector?”

“No Tumblewood, not that I am aware of.”

“That’s strange I just saw someon.”

He could barely make out the swing from the shadow of his eye before he ducked instinctively. The attacker wasn’t expecting his quick reaction and fell of balance. Smith quickly grappled the assailant and threw him backwards.

“What are you doing he shouted!”

The look of confusion in his eyes were total when they locked eyes. Tumblewoodonly had time to utter a single world before the explosion set of from the engine room.

“You!”

The explosion threw him into the bulkhead and dazed him. The assailant was more fortunate and had already started running down the hallway as he was knocked down, almost as if he was expecting the explosion.

The emergency bulkhead closed the door to the engine room to prevent the ship from losing all air as a vacuum had formed. Tumblewood crawled up to his knees and dragged himself up towards the engine room to the assess the damage. He couldn’t hear anything besides ringing in his ears but he also quickly put two and two together and realized that there was a saboteur on the ship.

Then engine room was gone, only a black void stared back at him from the other side of the bulkhead. He was regaining his breath and anger started swelling in his chest. He uttered a scream before he started running after the saboteur.

“Traitor!”

As Tumblewood was chasing the shadow again he was at a disadvantage but no one knew this part of the ship better than him. He knew all the shortcuts and the traitor could only be moving in one direction to escape unnoticed. All he could hear as he was running driven purely di adrenaline and rage was his own heavy breathing and one thought, revenge.
Tumblewood cut around the last corner and had no idea if he had caught up to the traitor but to his surprise he had. Just at the end of the hallway ahead of him running.

“I got you now.”

As Smith was preparing to throw himself at the traitor with all his strength he crashed into three of his ship crew coming around from the other junction connecting this hallway.

“Tumblewood, what are you doing!”

“I was catching the traitor! Behind you!”

Everyone looked where he was pointing but to his horror the shadow was gone.

“He was right there” Smith blurted out

They all looked at each other in disbelief.

“Tumblewood", You were the only one here, you’re the only one in this bulkhead.”

“No, nonono you have to believe me.”

They all stod up with an expression of hatred. It seemed they were staring into Tumblewood soul.

“Tumblewood", you are the traitor!” They shouted as they grabbed his arms.

“No no, you have to believe me he’s right there the shadow” Smith couldn’t believe they would listen, tears started streaming down his face.
“You don’t understand, please!”

The last thing he remembers is something hitting him from behind before the world turned black.

Sometime later

“Tumblewood, wake up, you fucking traitor!”

Tumblewood, woke up dizzy. He looked around but couldn’t see anyone. He started hyperventilating when he realized they were talking to him from the other side of a door. He looked around and knew where he was right away. Horror swept over him, he was still dizzy from the explosion but he rose to his knees and started to weep.

“Please you have to trust me. It’s not what you think.”

“We don’t listen to traitors, got any last words?”

“Yes,”

“too bad we don’t listen to traitors”. His best friend hit the button. Tumblewood knew he was going to die, at least he would have to try and give them the name, please let them hear the name.

“the traitor is!” Tumblewood screamed but he never got to finish the sentence before he was sent into space and the vacuum sucked all the air out him.

The smile on the three infiltrators were unmistakable.
