Night 3 29 June 2015 Base Camp 2, Nepal "So we can't get to Camp 1, and we can't go back to Base Camp 1 either," muttered Kitaman. "This is just bloody brilliant." "Dude," replied Blazinghand, "you realise there's icefall above and below us, right? We attempt to leave camp either way, we are dead ducks. The expedition is good as gone, this is what happens when the elements don't go our way. Our priority is getting out of here, and the copters are rotating in and out. It's only a matter of time before we are airlifted." "Quite frankly," I chimed in, "we need airlifted before things get worse here especially as Sherpas have ceased, or likely ceased rotating supplies to the camps ahead of us, and I think the priority is getting any teams in the camps above us down to safety. The ones at Camp 2 are in real trouble since they cannot be taken in easily by copter so they might try and relay another team up or try and carve a route. Anyone above Camp 2 needs to get down to Camp 2." "So here's a question, we're waiting here, how safe are we? Criminal activity is the other thing we have to worry about." asked Kitaman. "Well, I know it's pretty hellish on the Chinese side of this peak and Base Camp 1 was getting hit by the fringes, but they've relayed security that way. At least Base is safe." As if on cue, a helicopter whirred above the camp. "Any way we can book our place or is there a queue for evacuation?" Kita asked. "Think GMarshal's taking care of that." Blazinghand went to the administrative tent to figure out the order of evacuation. "Eh, we have a problem. No one is getting evacuated. However, someone was just booked for suspicious activity, he's getting escorted out and everyone else is getting searched before they leave." one of the staffers informed him. "I swear," he complained to me, "this keeps getting worse and worse by the hour." Day 4 30 June 2015 Base Camp 2, Nepal We were abruptly woken up by the wailing of even more sirens and the buzz of helicopters. Except this time, they were skipping ahead to the higher camps on the mountain. "I think the strategy, from what I've heard from commmunications," responded GMarshal, "is to prioritise those higher up on the mountain. The two base camps are not in real danger, except for criminal activity. The ones on Camp 2 are in trouble and there needs to be a new passageway that's deliberately made for those on Camp 2 to descend. We have to wait for reinforcements." Kitaman sighed. He was seething from the fact he'd never summit, but was even more unsettled by the criminal activity in the area. "I don't get it," he said, "how do these people even slip by?" As if on cue, administrators hustled two more sherpas suspected of wrongdoing right by us. rsoultin as Pasang Lhamu (Mason), has been arrested. Day 4 has begun. The voting thread is here. Night 6 and Endgame 3 July 2015 Changtse, Tibet, China Kitaman looked up at the helicopter that rushed away another Sherpa who was detained, suspecting of looting the base camps. "This is insanity," he moaned. "We have no more food left after tomorrow, and we're probably going to die." "I'm thinking we need to burn some snow and see if we can get to Base Camp 1 or die trying," I replied. "The mountains have been really unstable the past few days and if we're going to hatch our own escape we should have done it days ago, but I did not realise rescue services were going to be dithering around the way they have. There are at least 70 others who would also die with us." GMarshal surveyed the area. "We're going to get a head count and see who thinks they want to make an escape attempt on their own to Camp 1. I am starting to get desperate but we also need to make sure we have a Sherpa or two coming down with us. Otherwise we will probably have zero chance of survival." "Well shit," complained Blazinghand, "most of the ropes and supports in the icefall are completely gone, so you people are going to be going fucking ad hoc in a load of seracs that have the ability to melt and possibly injure you fatally on the way down." The next morning, GMarshal and about 10 from our party started making their way down. And then the seracs started to shift. I opted to stay at Camp 2 with Kitaman and Artanis and most of the rest of the party, being nearly too exhausted and scared to wade through the seracs. Of course none of that was to matter. The area destabilised again. GMarshal and his crew would die in the icefall and the copters would no longer be able to reach us, leaving us all to die a slow, brutal, painful death. This was not how I wanted it to end... Onegu, a foreign mountaineer (Town Miller), was arrested or killed somehow. NydusHerMain, a Sherpa (Town Vanilla), perished from exhaustion. Damdred, a Sherpa (Town Vanilla), perished from exhaustion. LightningStrike, a Sherpa (Town Vanilla), perished from exhaustion. Holyflare, the tribal commander (Mafia Roleblocker), has survived Mount Everest. ruXxar, the militant footsoldier, (Mafia Vanilla), has survived Mount Everest.
