I never shared role information with anyone, except errandor with wbg which he was supposed to protect. The reasoning for this was that even if wbg was scum erran would have lived, and he was lurking so hard that I thought a vigi might shoot him. Even WBG knew nothing about where the roles where. I certainly told him way more than I should have, but I never gave away crucial info. I even spread misinformation about swapping items on night 2 so that they would let our dts act. Only people that knew roles + night actions were me + gm and later risk after he shot mafia.

Here is the outline of the plan I cooked up:
I know that the Mafia had 3 KP on Night 1.
2 Town players died. 1 Scum.
Based on the camera this is what I know:

Even if layabout wasn't killed by Scum, there is at least 1 Scum KP missing.
I was hoping that the player who got hit would claim to have been hit without revealing how (Vet or Medic prot). Even if it was by PM I was then going to cam that player the next night assuming no new critical information reached the thread.
My reasoning was that any player that got hit Night 1 probably was in a PM circle of some sort and knew too much information. If the Mafia was hitting that player and failed, I was betting on that guy going wild in PM land and becoming an even bigger threat Night 2. I'd learn something since that player should have an action of some sort. From this I was going to start extrapolating my "Most likely Town" list.

About the Ace shot. Sandroba and Gm had been confirmed to me when Gm upgraded the rifle. Still he refused to claim to the group of people who shot scum night 1 and I knew was town, (Did not know sandroba had put a gun against his head in pms). His captain election plan was scum or braindead. And from hearsay I knew Ace wasn't braindead. He wasn't doing anything in the thread kept ignoring my pm's up untill just before I had decided to shoot him. I was almost certain he was scum and in the small chance he was town I still thought him gone would wake up the thread.
Alot of people are complaing on how they weren't in the loop and they had nothing to do. This is so damn wrong. Classic scumhunting is always good to do and what's stopping you from pm'ing someone else. All you did was sit on your lazy bums and waited to be pm'd. I was a confirmed town you could talk to. It's funny though. Not a single person approached me. Other then Marv but that was mainly because he had an xray.

ya'll need to stop being dicks to DrH. I completely understand why mafia flipped a shit and why DrH lost interest in hosting the game. You can see the effort he put in day one/two and night one posts. He actually waited till all item disputes were resolved (since you can only have two items) before posting the day two post. Obviously this game meant a lot to him and I actually said in private to sandroba that I was really happy that DrH was being such a good host because not a lot of hosts would sit at the deadline, stop the game there, ask everyone to stop posting, and then work things out before moving ahead. So DrH, don't sweat it, I know how much effort you put in.

As for the claims, mafia really got screwed this game. It was pretty obvious to me that sandroba was townie right at the start of the game due to his activity and his first original plan that fell through immediately when DrH killed it. Talking to him in IMs, I was 90% sure he was townie. Gm and sandroba hooking up in the beginning and being the tech and tech backup was just pure luck. From that point on they pretty much dominated the game once a vigi claimed to them and they shot a mafia member. I'd really just blame bad luck for the mafia loss on this one. So many key things came together for townie so early that by the time mafia could even respond, it was already too late. I do think mafia should have had a medic role though.
And by day two the game was more about finding townies than anything else. Tali was obvious townie day one and from rayzor and snarf privately asking tali to run for captain, I figured they were townie as well, especially since they did it immediately after tali's first or second post. Marv was townie as soon as we talked cause he claimed immediately to me and then later told me he was DT without me prompting him lol.
After Night one, Kurumi was townie to me because I found out he gave tali a good item, risk obviously shot l10f, and from there things just snowballed.

I was really enjoying this game. I like being able to PM as a townie because i feel like i am a lot less in the dark as i can talk about things that i might not want to put in the thread and i can pressure players by talking directly to them not simply putting a question in the thread that they might choose to ignore. The real problem with PM's was that so few players decided to share thoughts or act directly in the thread, so if you weren't in contact with the players calling the shot's then this game must have felt pretty terrible.
It was nice to have all of that flavour, i wish there were more games with so much.
I also never got to use my item.

Also I feel like jackal had a bit of a point. PM games are no longer PM games, they are IM games, which are very different from PM games. We should talk about if PM games should just be using TL PM or not.
