Mafia is an educated guessing game of epic proportions. The objective of the game is to lynch or kill all mafia members before they outnumber the rest of the town. It's much like a game of poker because mafia members are also part of the town during the day and may manipulate the vote to their liking. If the mafia at any time outnumber or equal the townspeople, they win. The town's goal is to lynch all the members of the mafia.
The game is typically very active, so the thread will get big quickly. However, it is essential to read the thread to play the game. If you do not have the time or patience to read the whole thread, do not play. I will not compensate for ignorance.
Rules:
Cheating: Cheating includes (but is not limited to): 1. Posting after death. You may have one polite goodbye post, but it may not contain any potentially game-changing information. 2. Ruining the game by doing something like hand out your mafia's member list to the town. 3. Logging on to someone else's account to get their role or looking over someone's shoulder to get their role. 4. Comparing role PM times to determine roles. 5. Posting screenshots of your inbox. 6. Posting or sharing any PM you receive from a host. 7. Getting yourself modkilled to help your team. Your non-majority-decided death may not be used as a bargaining chip. 8. Signing up more than once using smurf accounts. 9. Betting items outside of the game in exchange for in-game benefits. 10. Sharing accounts with other players unless cleared by the host in advance. Otherwise, only you may post on your account. 11. Breadcrumbing the specific phrasing of your role PM. Do not compare the phrasing in your role PM to prove your alignment. You can claim the abilities you have, but you can't use the specific phrasing of your role PM. Cheating is not tolerated here. The punishment will be severe.

Activity: You must post in this thread once per day/night cycle and vote every day while you are alive. If you fail to do so, you will be modkilled.

Editing: Editing is not allowed for any reason. Editing will result in a warning. After that, you will be modkilled. This is the one part of the site where it is okay to be double posting, even triple-posting. While I ask for everybody to post as concisely as possible, post again if you have to edit anything.
Inappropriate posts: If you want to post something insulting or inappropriate and know the TL mods would have a problem with it elsewhere, don't post it here. If you do, a host will warn you or modkill you and request that you be banned from future games. The hosts have the final say on what is inappropriate. If you do not like how someone is talking to you, please PM a host, Flamewheel, or Mig before involving the TL staff. If you are unsatisfied with how the situation is resolved, then you can appeal to the TL staff normally. Note: Message hosts first, anyone found to be circumventing hosts will also be punished.
Reporting posts: The report button is a nice feature for regular TL, but not for this forum. We prefer to deal with things in house if possible to avoid confusion among the TL staff. If you have a problem with how someone is posting, talk to the host, co-host, Flamewheel, or Mig before using your report button. Please do not use your report button for anything other than inappropriate posts which you feel are not being dealt with adequately.
Ban discussions: Please wait until this game is over to talk about modkills and bans resulting from this game.
Play to win. This means you play your best to help your team win while you are alive and in the game. However, this does not mean that you should try to win by being a jerk to the other players so they all want to quit playing.
This also means that you cannot leave the game without a good reason without a ban. These situations will be dealt with on a case by case basis. PM your host if you need to leave the game.

It is common for mafia (and town circles if PMs are allowed) to use a medium outside of TL such as QuickTopics or IRC to communicate during the game. Please be mindful that other players may be more tech savvy than you and they may attempt impersonate members of your team or attempt to infiltrate your chat. You use these media at your own risk.
Voting rules:
1. Voting is done in a voting thread that will be linked later. Please keep votes there, and only vote there. Do not PM me your vote. 2. Please vote in the following format: ##Vote Qatol. Votes not done in the correct fashion will not be counted. I will update vote counts whenever I get the chance. 3. No conditional voting. 4. You cannot vote for yourself. Signups:
This game is open to anyone. Signups will remain open until enough players have joined.
Game-specific rules:
Modkills: This game follows the TL Mafia Ban List. If you are modkilled, your punishment will go beyond being eliminated from this game. Please refer to it for questions about your punishment. If you want to use this game to sit out your ban, please PM Flamewheel or post in the Ban List.
Replacements This game uses replacements. Replacements will be made in the game until day 3. After that no replacements. If a player is modkilled during the designated time, then they will be replaced by a player on the replacement list.
Clues: There are no clues.
PMs PMs are not allowed in this game unless a role states otherwise.
Time Cycle: This game will follow a 24 hour night/48 hour day cycle. In case I am not able to post around deadline, any votes after the 48 hour mark will not count and the game will be put on halt until the night post is up. Currently the deadline is 11pm est, but that is subject to change. Actions/votes will be accepted up to and including the posted time, but not after. You are one of the many unfortunate people that Dr. Strange has thrown into the new prison block he has named Arkham City. You have no powers unlike the bigger criminal names that you have learned to fear since your incarceration. However, you do have the power to work as a mob and kill 1 person a day via democratic voting and hanging said person.
Insane inmates You are a insane beyond belief. As such you killed a tyger security guard and decided to wear his clothes. Basically, any Detective checks on you will mark you as a Tyger Security Guard . As you are now donned in the security guards uniform, you subject other inmates to the same punishments the guards gave to you. You win with the inmates even though you hate them. You also don't realize just how insane you are and as such think you are a regular inmate.

Tyger Security
Tyger Security Guard You are one of the armed and dangerous men employed by Hugo Strange to keep order within Arkham City. You are not afraid to use your weapons with extreme prejudice. You are actively seeking out the troublemakers within the city and putting them down.
Talia al Ghul
Talia is the daughter of Ra's al Ghul. She at a young age was trained by her father in the skills of an assassin as part of her destiny to help lead the league of assassins he had created. As such she is able to use her abilities to subdue her opponents, denying them the chance to act while she is pursuing them. (roleblock). She may only subdue one player a night.
Ra's al Ghul The ancient man has lived through the dawn of centuries and has come to believe that the world must be cleansed to be saved. As such he believes Hugo Strange may be up to the task of following in his footsteps. With this belief in hand he lets Strange create and run arkham city to see the abilities of the man who may one day replace him. Due to his expanded life span, Ra’s has accumulated a vast knowledge of hand-to-hand combat, chemistry, detective artistry, physics, and martial arts (all of which rival that of Batman). He is still injured from the last encounter with batman however and as such is unable to perform his combat abilities. Instead he is only able to use his detective abilities. Once a night he may check the identity of one player. Ra’s greatest weapons however are his Lazarus Pits, which will heal him of any injury (even if he is recently dead) while de-aging him back to his prime of life. His constant exposure to the pits has also granted him slightly enhanced endurance and healing. As such it takes two shots to kill Ra's.
Hugo Strange Hugo Strange surfaces as a mysterious psychiatrist with a shady past involving unethical experiments on his former patients. He has also deduced Batman's secret identity, having analyzed him from afar. Strange is eventually placed in charge of running Mayor Quincy Sharp's "Arkham City" project, a sprawling, open-air, prison district where incarcerated inmates are not kept in cells but allowed to wreak havoc on the streets. The only rule enforced in Arkham City is that detainees held there may not attempt escape to the outside world, a law ruthlessly upheld by highly-trained mercenaries working for a rogue private military company, Tyger Security. Strange is very secretive about his work in Arkham, and rumors soon build up that he is up to something horrible behind those isolated walls. Since he is so powerful he is able to have someone locked up at night (protecting them from 1 hit). As he is also a master of psychiatry he is also able to convince whoever attempts to rolecheck him that he is someone else entirely. (Batman see's through this) He chooses day 1 or night 1 who he wishes to impersonate as. If he does not send in an action he will be revealed as himself, so make sure you choose!
Deadshot He infiltrates Arkham City in order to target certain people. Hugo Strange tells him who to shoot each night and thus deadshot will carry out the contract and kill that person. If Hugo Strange is killed, deadshot will no longer be able to carry out his attacks.
Third Party roles
Batman You are the masked vigilante. You have come to Arkham City to put everything back in order. First order of business is tracking down the Joker and Hugo strange and removing both threats.. You have the ability to hit 1 person a night. Being the stealthy man you are, your hit goes through all protections except those of Solomon Grundy, Clayface, Bane, and Mr. Freeze. Also due to your past history with both Talia and catwoman you cannot eliminate either of them. You are also a master of stealth and are immune to all night hits. You win by removing Joker and Hugo Strange from the game. Batman can also opt to use his detective powers instead of beating someone down at night, revealing their role to him. However, do to batmans solitary nature he may never claim his role in thread. As such you are good at fooling people, so you can appear to be any role you wish!
Cat Woman Catwoman, Selina Kyle, is a sometimes-adversary of Batman, known for having a complex love-hate (often romantic) relationship with him. She is a whip-carrying burglar with a taste for high-stake thefts. As such she entered Arkham City to rob both two face and penguin as both have large stashes she wishes to plunder. With her honed skills she is able to eliminate one player a night regardless of protections in the exception of Solomon Grundy, Clayface, Bane, and Mr. Freeze, or follow someone secretly gaining all information on that person. Based on her history with batman and poison ivy she is unable to eliminate either of them. She is immune to all night hits as she is wily and unable to be pinned down and finished off. Due to the secret nature of her work, she may not roleclaim. She is also incredibly good at fooling people with her Allure and access to materials to make the perfect disguise. As such she can appear to be any role in the game. She wins when two face and penguin are eliminated.
Both Catwoman and Batman must choose what role they wish to appear as before the end of night 1 or all dt checks will reveal who they are.
Note: Some names appear under 2 categories. These players will have to decide to be one or the other for their role. They are not both. Some roles might also have slight alterations to the "standard" although nothing game breaking. Not all names listed are guarenteed to be in this game, however only names listed will be in this game. Each role, much like Asylum, will have unique flavour text to make the gf style roles have more fun with the game. See Arkham Asylum for flavour text examples that I used for when you submit your role choice.

Mafia Kp is 3. It drops to 1 only when 1 member of the team is alive, and they lose a kp if the gf dies

yeah like that. I was once in a game with deadlines as usual (4 am for germany, had to stay up at 8am...) and asked if I could just do a "vote whoever THIS guy votes" because imo he was clear townie. That's when I found out that conditional voting is not allowed
