ITW is great, but he has many responsibilities. With a dedicated mod, people could be added easily, topic names could change with the day/night cycle, topics could be locked, posts could be edited, 2 day temp bans could be handed out.

As for who the mod would be, it's pretty clear that Qatol would be an awesome candidate if he wishes for it.

Mafia games usually have trouble finding players because people aren't let in that often, generally people are let in about twice a month. A dedicated mod could let people join in right as games are starting up, helping bump up signups for games.

As for temp bans, of course I don't believe they should be handed out left and right, but I believe because of the nature of the mafia forums, people are more tempted to go on and start flaming people. The mafia forum certainly sparks heated arguments which get ugly when they get personal.

And as for temp bans, they are as disruptive to the game as modkills, if not worse. And if the posting is bad enough to warrant a disciplinary modkill and it continues, that is where we have had the staff step in and ban anyways (bill murray x2, scaramanga).
