also you have to type /sitout in a million places also you have to check during the short time when a game is going up but not yet full. ALSO you have to pick the right games that are over quick not the long ones. It's a major bitch. Also you have to PM the host like WTF... how hard is it to pm someone on this site. Oh dont type there name in 1 letter wrong or the whole thing is fucked up. | ||

Heck even a 3 game ban is pretty severe (for minor offenses, Kush was obviously related to mulitple offences etc). 3 games can easily be 6 weeks. Possibly more depending on the rate of sign ups. Theres a huge diff between choosing to observe for 6 weeks because being busy, and being itchy fingered to play for 6 weeks, and are not allowed. | ||

You know there is a "PM"-link right besideds everyones name? So you can instantly PM the host of a game by opening his and clicking "PM" and it will fill out the name correctly for you... | ||

Also, making people type /sitout and pm people is to keep people from deciding half way through a game that they don't want to play anymore, and being able to come back six months later with no consequences because they've auto-sat out their punishment. | ||

Anyways, the point is that typing /sitout or PMing the host serves a very specific purpose and it shouldn't be a very big burden to people who actually care about playing here. It isn't like it's all that easy to get big multi-game bans anyways. You have to screw up a lot of times. | ||

We need more snake god in here. On-topic: There's been a lot of discussions before about changing to a time based system from the sit out system. I'm in favour of the sit-out system. I don't feel it's that hard for someone to post /sit-out in a thread and write a couple PMs. It shows that they're around and are willing to put in a modicum of effort to remove themselves from the ban list. With a time-based system, you'd run into a lot of problems that the sit-out system circumvents. Most of the "problems" related to the sit-out system are more concerned with the convenience of the person who was banned, which I don't think is that huge of a priority in most circumstances. | ||
