Also GB winning a ton of medals, wowow. China has won 5 gold medals in each of Swimming, Weightlifting, Diving, and Badminton. On the other hand, the vast majority of US gold medals are swimming, where we have 16. China just wins a much bigger variety of events. Oh, I generally know about distribution and whatnot but thanks for elaborating and whatnot :D!
I was mainly wondering about the medal disparity over the past day or so. Last I remember, China had a 2-gold lead and I think the US had several track events in which they had a very good chance, so I was surprised that China has a 4-gold lead atm. I don't think China will come out on top, but I can hope

Scoring always crap in boxing, not matter professional or not. The way they should do it is the way they did it in Athens, when the judges had to press the button for a registered hit within 1second of another 2 judges to score a point. The way they do it now leaves it open to all kinds of crap.
But Ametur boxing is really bad yo

I think it was mostly in gymnastics. For some reason, they do team all-around, then individual all-around then individual events. That seems backward. The US did better in team competition and the individual all-around but was disappointing on the individual events.
I think US track and field has been disappointing so far as well. The US is doing way better on the team sports that have yet to give out medals, but there's only a few medals awarded for those.

2 matches tonight for the frenchies in boxing, 2 incomprehensible robberies. It's even worse for vastine who got robbed twice in 2 olympics.

This was just hard to watch, i don't want to be in vastine head tonight, or in a ring with him..

you're right on the grammar point Well it's not that surprising since all the ex-yougoslavy republics are pretty good in handball but still a failure when it's their first defeat T.T

Doesn't that belong in the other thread? Maybe they're going to get a visit from the Swedish handball team, too, like Usain Bolt did.

China has the ambition, following Beijing they had the infrastructures and now they have trainers. On top of that, every major athlete is pro in the sense that he is paid by the government to compete.

Grats Norway on your first gold
