I do hope they can win the most golds by the end, but it will be close, if not a US win. Have you seen how Australia have been going? The only thing more annoying than the amount of silvers we've gotten is having to hear the commentators trying to put a positive spin on it all. Sure, it's fine to hear them telling us that the Aussie only has a dig a little deeper (and s/he's definitely got the ability!) for the first couple of times, but when you're watch the men's 4s in rowing behind by a mile and the commentators saying that all they need is a little surge and we can snag the gold... it gets tiring. Dunno if you have Foxtel or not, but the swimming commentator on it is the absolute worst. "The Australian is up in FRONT!!!" and he/she turns in 5th or 6th place.
Thank god I don't have Foxtel, I would have fully broken down by now.
and in other news, Aussies leading from the start in the cycling, loses to the yanks in the heat. Classic.

Going for WR 5 on the bounce
Edit: Nailed it!

If its any consolation. The Russians and Japanese are doing a pretty good job of silver and bronze finishes. Prob better than you guys, or worse I guess depending on how you look at it.

Watching all this british success in cycling makes me want to start it up again ><. :D. Probably a good idea because of all the uni alcohol weight i've put on....

Edit:lol How is this is a France vs UK fight ? A lot of person here who are not from France (actually most of the criticisms came from non-french posters...) supported that what UK athlethes have done was not fair and was not in the spirit of the competition (still, surprisingly, did not find any non british person to support the behaviour of the british ??) Well let's stop here, I just hope there will not be any more controversial behaviour from any competitors of any countries, and if there is, they will be DQ Too late, Another English controversial move happened now in mens rowing. They got a bad start and forced a restart.

Basically, at the end of these games, I want Australia to be AT LEAST higher in the medal tally than Kazakstan. I'm not hoping for much, just that.

Should have gone a little slower, now they have to go stupidly fast to break the WR again.

Well, There's still cycling, so hopefully we can get at least one gold from that, and Hockey's looking good. and then there's hurdles, and I think we've a chance for long jump. All in all, it's not a hopeless wish.

yeah imo it depends more on Kazak results than yours, there is much more incertainity on their side.
