On the contrary if an investigation ensues and it comes to light there has been fowl play I and I imagine most Brits would side with the decisions of the judges. Just wish other nations on this board would trust the judges decisions more, they put a heck of a lot more time into deciding these things then we do.

If you honestly believe that at this point after so much evidence (although at this point a case could be made that its circumstantial) to the contrary then your either deceiving yourself or just painfully naive.

Could it just be, possibly that the quality of the officiating is not up to par after all the nonsense that has gone down from Shin, to the Japanese boxer to the badminton to now rowing and god knows what else that might have been missed ? Can you not even allow for that possibility ?

Theres politics involved and to a large extent this event has become a dick measuring contest. Ofcourse there will be controversy.

Quite honestly I'm not the conspiracy theory type. I don't believe in UFO's I don't believe in ghosts and I don't believe the USA blew up their own twin towers.

What your suggesting jeopardises the entire integrity of the Olympic games and if it were true I'm not even sure I would be watching it right now.

There is no conspiracy, every body knows it. Theres always been biases in sports with relative ambiguity involved whether its in the scoring process or the . Not like its going to change now and it doesnt really bother anyone unless they are on the but end of it.

And please controversy in sport has nothing to do with UFO's or Ghosts or whatever. What im suggesting is a fact everyone knows for a while now, and something that everyones just learnt to deal with. Its not like its just the British who are guilty of it either, the chinese were guilty of quite a few dubious instances on their turf aswell. Thats just how it works. Not all sports are like that ofcourse but where ever the possibility has existed it has happened.

It just boils down to a difference of opinion. I believe the judges have used their best judgement to protect the integrity of the Olympic games and you don't, there's no fact involved at all just conspiracy. I'll leave it at that as there's no resolving a difference of opinion.

So you believe that allowing a cyclist to crash intentionally to restart the race protects the integrity of the sport ?

Point taken.

If it's within the rules yes? I feel we are just going round in circles here... I'm out.

Yeah your right cant argue with people naive fanboys in denial. No wonder its going in circles.

People wanted an end to this discussion which I agree with but calling people fanboys isnt needed. They didnt break any rules, something you would know if you either watched all of the qualifying or knew the rules.

he abused the rule but you won't recognize it despite spitting on the badminton doubles.

Will be rooting for Korea in the fencing finals. I really really want to see Shin A Lam get a gold medal.

shame it's going ot be too late for me to watch, hope to wake up to good news!

I do hope they can win the most golds by the end, but it will be close, if not a US win.

well i'm chinese but been in australia for a while, i'm just very patriotic to the motherland

also: found it strange that you get 2 rounds in qualifying for trampoline, but only 1 jump in the final. weird

I stood down there and saw it: it was a rowing error, he simply fell out of his seat." Further: "So the brits hurry up and take off the seat... I am cycling right behind the british trainer and he is swearing... Then the trainer (red: British) loosened the seat. Because the danish boat won the race they did not keep the promise to the french of making a protest together...

god you are so pathetic. It is NOT within the rule. This is so NOT within the rules that your team did not even have the courage to support their behaviour and gave a stupid answer by saying that this is not true and the german/british cyclist claimed that because he does not know to speak english (do they think everybody is stupid or what ???). Why would they be so ashamed of what they have done so that they have to lie about it, if it is "within the rule" ? They just faked a crash in order to benefit for a badly written rule in a way that was not intented by those who wrote the rules. They should have been DCed 10000 times and I find it so ridiculous to have spoke so much about "Olympic Spirit" and to have blame so hardly the badmintons players (they even had to make public apologies in their countries...) and now to do that and to get away with it.... Badminton players did not break any rules strictly speaking, but they broke the spirit of the competition, so did the british in both rowing and cyclism.

Have you seen how Australia have been going? The only thing more annoying than the amount of silvers we've gotten is having to hear the commentators trying to put a positive spin on it all. Sure, it's fine to hear them telling us that the Aussie only has a dig a little deeper (and s/he's definitely got the ability!) for the first couple of times, but when you're watch the men's 4s in rowing behind by a mile and the commentators saying that all they need is a little surge and we can snag the gold... it gets tiring.

How is this is a France vs UK fight ? A lot of person here who are not from France (actually most of the criticisms came from non-french posters...) supported that what UK athlethes have done was not fair and was not in the spirit of the competition (still, surprisingly, did not find any non british person to support the behaviour of the british ??)

Well let's stop here, I just hope there will not be any more controversial behaviour from any competitors of any countries, and if there is, they will be DQ

The Chinese, Koreans, and Indonesians didnt "break' any rules either. Its how you value the integrity of your sport. Badminton is pretty bad at that in general, this is hardly a rare occurrence. half the tournaments The world no.1 Lin Dan pulls out of semis against his countrymen regularly so theyre all sitting at top 4 in the rankings ( LCW is spoilling their party at no.2)

But it seems like for once the occasion warranted some action. Clearly cycling isnt there yet. Or maybe it is but there were other factors that limited action being taken.

The double standard practically slaps you in the face. But again I for one, dont care, its always been like this. Something you would know if you'd actually watched any before 2008 Im guessing.

I saw the women's lightweight 2 and the danish commentators kept reassuring that the danish rowers did perfect in the fight for gold when they were a boatlength from bronze and 2 from gold with 500 meters to go. It reminds you of a certain former iraquian minister.

ah man. the chinese girl just had to land her final jump and would have gotten gold (trampoline) >< poor girl. congrats to the canadian. bahhhh

I was watching that too (mostly because there's nothing else to). Still landed bronze.

yer! wasn't far off gold so would have surpassed the canadian girl had she finished the landing. =[ ah well. china "should" still win all the badminton, diving and table tennis gold XD hehe, women's team fencing tonight too. go china!

haha why are you cheering for China? :D yayay

Most people cheer either for their home country or by default against China ._.

I do hope they can win the most golds by the end, but it will be close, if not a US win.

Yeah that's true too...heard from some that it's being dubbed the silver games over there ;__; my condolences yo.

Almost feels awkward rooting for China since we rake in so many golds...but I still want China to win the most overall keke.

Don't worry, I've heard some of our newspeople saying that silver is the new gold, so we're doing great!

Appears the Russians got the same memo!

Dunno if you have Foxtel or not, but the swimming commentator on it is the absolute worst. "The Australian is up in FRONT!!!" and he/she turns in 5th or 6th place.

when they'll try to sell a swimmer in 7th position before the last 50meters as a contender for gold you'll reach french tv lvl.
Zest fanboy.
