And Deft stops Imp winning another tournament.

Pretty sure, that Deft would have swapped both OGN and LPL for Worlds.
But he has good shot in winning latter this season.

Probably was best shot for any team this year to dethrone EDG again.
Clearlove and Koro with 3rd straight LPL, tying NaMei's record.

Stopping 2 Champions + 1 LPL vs having Worlds. I dunno. EDG vs SKT/GE should be good for MSI at least.

Worlds isn't exactly harder to win than OGN though. It's more "hyped" coz Riot makes it so but otherwise it was the worse competition.

This. Though this was only true for s3 and 4.

Game 3
  • damn, that meiko hook onto imp for an EDG ace into Baron
  • Gnar has seriously fallen off in the West but damn does koro know how to play this champ
  • But koro giveth, koro taketh away. So many random deaths by EDG, I don't even...
  • Face of the Mountain on Koro. Ketara would be happy. l0l
  • clearlove is obv no Xmithie
  • idk if it's personal but it's pretty funny how often deft is able to kill imp in team fights

Game 4
  • Quite possibly the worst team fighting I've seen from EDG in a long time.
  • When you can't team fight, a fed Orianna is just rubbing salt on a wound

Game 5
  • lololol, the mid lane camp is real. Just pitch a tent.
  • Luckily for PawN, the rest of his team does pretty solid work all around
  • Interestingly enough, Eastern Rek'Sai are all aboard the Cinderhulk train, going Stalker/Cinder instead of the Western Rek build of Skirmisher's/Warrior.
  • I hear two Smites on a team is good for securing Baron
  • Did LGD even have a Mid Lane this game???

I would've liked to see LGD go instead but oh well. EDG did prove to be the better team as there's no way Quan is ready at the international scene.

The junglers at MSI are Clearlove, Bengi/Lee, Santorin, Reign Over, Mountain and Who Cares.

Yeah the junglers aren't that great but it's hard to tell who's a super A class jungler at the moment. Sejuani is like the perfect CL champion though. Also Bengi got some kind of weird revival. Santorin plays TSM camp mid style. TBH I actually think Reignover looks the most complete out of all the junglers but EU is shakey to read at the moment.

Clearlove by far the best jungler there.

i would not trust bengi at all.

clearlove at least makes it to top of solo queue ladders very consistently so his mechanics is there.

Gamelog:

Game 1: Who was the clown who argued with me when I said Clearlove needed to stop taking kills? Yea, his KDA is great because he doesn't die as he runs away as a tanky, useless, nunu.

Game 2: Early on, Pawn looking quite bad early, but then LGD went for the classic Dyrus (koro) bait. This is basically the Clearlove-Pawn synergy game, and they pushed their powerspike/LGD played into it.

Game 3: Don't like LGD's comp, IMO it can only work if GodV plays GodLY (hahahaha). Who opts into that midlane gank when down TP? Ahh, there is the terrible PYL we used to know, but Orianna is killing it at that 2nd dragon because of consecutive derps by Clearlove and Pawn. AND THE THROW JUNGLE FIGHT AGAINST SEJ/Gnar. Yup Ori played great, but like I said, needed to be godly, and could not be because the comp sucked.

Game 4: Feel very much the same about LGD, but Fizz could suck hard enough for anything to work. Seems like EDG derps across the map early are going to keep them down. Orianna crushing again this game, and dat Ori hardcarry.

Game 5: Like both teams' drafts. Would have preferred a lot of things over Lissandra though. Nice 3 man dive early. More dives, but dumbly giving shit to Hecarim. LGD playing well around the weak Pawn, but Clearlove is everywhere and deft/koro are doing the damage. Just dont get the decisions by LGD, so many times they give up a 2 for 0 to get a 3-for-2. And then the baron throw, wtf? Koro approaching the Flame horizon, oh and no flame this whole series I just realized :-/ DEFT with those carry pants, and pawn with impressive gold cards despite being quite laughable.

Edit: Also, this series is basically the confluence of pro-Clearlove camps and those of us who are less hot on him. EDG didnt have great objective control most games, but he also hit great Sej ults in teamfights. However, mostly what we learned is "traditional" stats are pretty useless with him, because he takes kills no other jungler would so he is always tankier than any other jungler would be and thus dies less than any other jungler would.

I just raged at my monitor at that baron throw. Really wanted LGD to win since I really like all their players... I mean, I like all of EDG's players too, but they haven't been look as crisp recently, and LGD was looking like they had got all their shit together. A lot of mistakes by both teams in this series though... Hopefully EDG cleans up their play before MSI so we can get some great games. Still, overall, an enjoyable series even though I was afterwards. Weiless' Orianna is always amazing to watch, and Pawn's TF recovery in Game 5 was nice as well. Deft and Imp both played well, but Deft's teamfighting is always ridiculous. Imp looked really sad after the game though...

Some semi-relevant weibo posts (sort of hard to translate exactly in English and dependent on context, giving you guys multiple translations from literal to more figurative to try to capture the feeling):

Pyl: Everytime just a little bit short (or everytime just missing one step OR everytime just lacking a little something)

Later, he posted something about how both teams played well and nobody played super bad. After IET, he's taking a break for some reason and hopes LGD can do well in the future (fan speculation is treatment for his lower jaw).

Quan replied, I'm so sorry, bro (although bro is a bit too informal? eh).

Later, he posted: I am so sorry. If I only was stronger (or could have played better)....

Weiless: I really... can't accept this current bitterness (or, am not willing to accept the feeling of being a loser OR am not willing to accept this failure).

Agh, I'm all T.T for LGD, but happy for EDG.

Dude you need to step up your game. You are sounding like an Azarkon-wannabe lately, and that is really not a praise.

Also if anybody is interested in the off-season tournaments, IET right now at http://star.longzhu.com/iet <- OMG vs IG... If your internet is amazing, you can watch in on the official streaming platform: http://www.zhanqi.tv/topic/iet.
Some interesting testing going on with OMG's roster if you want to see it. More info here if you want to see who's playing who and such. IET typically has some really horrible delays so might be easier to catch VODs later if you're interested at youku or other sites.

Full warning though, transfer season is when lots of teams try out a lot of things... Don't expect those to stay the same heading into summer.

Edit: PDD and Xiaoxiao commentary
