Meteos started building a more damage oriented vi last season with sotl > brutalizer and was solo carrying C9 with it then at some point dexter decided to take it further and build viforce against complexity and here we are.

The thing is, Viforce can actually outduel a Jax in lategame, that might be their plan to splitpush using vi.
How could she? Jax gets more mileage out of split damage and more AS for his sustain. Also counterstrike fucks with her.
And they never give her that huge scaling. They buffed her Q's scaling so that it becomes equal to pre-nerf once she reaches 200 bonus AD. That won't happen.

The ability to CC for long periods of time, along with her W actually makes her very strong. But it looks like Dig is going for the Vi cc train with TF to deal with jax*

Vi has no way to stick to people unless they lack mobility themselves, so that she can Q back to them from time to time. That's why she can handle a Shyvana for exemple: Burnout > Vi's kit.
She doesn't cc for "long" periods of time in a 1v1, consider that to charge Q she does nothing for one second, that's a lot of lost dps lategame compared to someone like Jax, and her ult is one-time use in duels (and unless she's sure she can win, she won't open with it either). W is strong in long drawn-out fights, against picks such as lategame Renekton, Mundo, or full tank Shyvana, but she loses to picks who build armour and damage, because they'll be able to outdamage the output from Denting Blows. The armour reduction is helpful when she's peeling, but her dps is meh because of her animations (they're heavily front-loaded in terms of frames, it's harder to attack-move with her compared to other champions) and lack of mobility.

i don't blame tsm too badly on that, cuz at least they showed initiative in trying to get some gold back in their favor. which is better than before.
