[S3 Worlds] Quarterfinals - Page 119

Two things as public notice:
1. + Show Spoiler [Quarterfinals 1 spoiler] +
Congrats to Fnatic, they played superbly and glgl to them in the Semis!
No one is saying that Fnatic only won because of the level 1 in Game 3. Please keep the nationalistic statements out of our subforum.

2. Riot's Worlds format is atrocious. Let's not beat a dead horse here. I will certainly be talking to Riot's eSports dept about it in the near future.

I simply ask everyone to be civil. Humble in victory, graceful in defeat.
Enjoy the games~

Trash-talk aside, C9 has some real potential once they get more international experience they may become a force

Yep, but anyone who thinks they'd have a chance - after witnessing these 3 games - in a BoX, is delusional.

Sure, if C9 doesn't improve at all. No faith lol.

Nah Volband's been hating on NA all tournament. Nothing new to see here folks, move along.

In other news, I'm pissed my schedule only let me see this last game. How were games 1 and 2?

He's been hating on NA all Summer Split imo. #1 NA hater.

Game 1 was Kassadin/Lissandra combo wrecking an immobile C9 comp. Game 2 was Balls Rumble.

Game 3 was just an example of why C9 needs to improve their Level 1. Silliness.

game 3 was an example why you never buy mana manipulator as support

Eh, Mana Manipulator wouldn't have saved him. Leona dominates the matchup if she gets ahead regardless, and both Corki and Zyra are fairly mana intensive.

It's a bad buy, but the loss was for other reasons.

Mana Manip is just a junk item to begin with. Buying while behind vs a leona lane is just stupid.

Very impressive showing from C9 (game 3 aside obviously). I expected fnatic to stomp them and after the first 2 games I'd have to say they were pretty much even.

If only NA had better competition in their region. I was surprised by how fnatic was able to exploit lemon's obvious warding patterns and none of the NA teams could.

I think it's less about better competition and more about different styles. NA teams player super passive and slow. Only really Vulcun has a faster paced early game but have terrible decision making past that point.

I was told that cloud9 was the best team in NA. After watching this series with fnatic, it seems NA is in deep trouble in terms of talent and skill compared to europe and asia.

Maybe, NA team should travel to korea and train? Seems like it helps with sc2 players like scarlett and naniwa.

Game 3 doesn't mean much though since that double kill at lvl 1 was so brutal.

I do think double kill at lvl 1 was huge. But cyanide didn't utilize it at all.

Level 1 doesn't somehow escape the scape of the game, it's not just luck and doesn't just "happen". Of course it counts fully.

I just don't get why people are so focused on this game 3 thing. Fnatic did the exact same thing against Vulcun and lost horribly.

Zuna beat them because of a bad level 1 - that's how much it puts you behind.

Exactly this. If you want to say Fnatic legitimately outplayed C9 that game and that it wasn't based around the level 1 then you have to accept the fact that Fnatic lost to Vulcan. Yes, the same vulcan that lost a 6k gold lead against Gambit at 20 minutes.

how can you even compare those, holy shit na pls.

What are you even trying to say?

Fnatic is the better team. I'm just saying a shit level 1 can easily ruin a game.

I just stumbled over this, so just 2 simple questions from a dota-2-player perspective: This is supposed to be the equivalent to the International? And really, those teams that were seeded get "rewarded" by travelling around the world just to have the chance to be eliminated after 2 games?

Does league have off seasons where they can travel and compete at tournaments such as dreamhack?

Really disappointed with Cyanide though, with those 700 gold, he should have been a monster. Instead, he was always weaker then Meteos although not having that much more impact after those 2 kills.

He gifted Shen the lane after that (with his vlad kill) and with his sight stone made vision and picks all around the map possible. I don't understand all this Cyanide bashing in game 3.

No dude, it was BRUTAL. That Shen bought potions, and Cyanide lost the cs war despite being 2-0. Meteos almost had a succesfull gank before him. As he said, brutal.

pretty much yes, the format has already been exposed to be complete and utter bullshit for all athe seeded teams who may lose one bo3 and not play any other games.

After the draft, I liked C9 more than fnatic.

All lanes C9 could bully fnatic's lane (if played without lane swaps).

Corki/Zyra shits on Varus/Leona
Kennen shits on Kass (as seen by early tower getting taken)
Vlad shits on Shen

Basically C9 would shove and bully all lanes, while meteos counter jungles/farms while lee sin is forced to go to lanes to cover and help.

But the level 1 double kill to Lee meant that Lee could cover lanes and be underfarmed WITHOUT being behind nocturne.

I'm not saying C9 would have won if level 1 didn't happen, but would have been an amazing game.

It would come down to if C9 could build big enough lead in the early game to snowball to victory OR if fnatic could defend well enough to hit their power spikes earlier so they can take over late game.

But we were all robbed of an amazing 3rd game by a gamble that LemonNation decided to take at level 1 (there was only confirmation of 2 in standing in mid AND they did not see Fnatic walk into their jungle) although there was only one route that Fnatic could take that would catch C9 where they were caught). When it is game 3 at the world championships, personally, I thin it is better safe than sorry. A gamble that LemonNation took to ward Fnatic's blue and that cost them a real chance at a 50/50 game to move onto to semis.
