Two things as public notice: 1. + Show Spoiler [Quarterfinals 1 spoiler] +Congrats to Fnatic, they played superbly and glgl to them in the Semis! No one is saying that Fnatic only won because of the level 1 in Game 3. Please keep the nationalistic statements out of our subforum. 2. Riot's Worlds format is atrocious. Let's not beat a dead horse here. I will certainly be talking to Riot's eSports dept about it in the near future. I simply ask everyone to be civil. Humble in victory, graceful in defeat. Enjoy the games~ -Neo, Sept 23rd, 3:20 PM PDT, page 120 |

And really, those teams that were seeded get "rewarded" by travelling around the world just to have the chance to be eliminated after 2 games? As someone who likes LoL way more than DotA: it's not equivalent. TI3 was 100x better run than this crappy tournament. TI3 had better tournament style (RR + Winner/loser bracket? Yes pls). Multiple streams for the ability to process more games. No silly seeding from pre-tournament results.
With the way the Riot circuit is run, seeding makes sense. The format still is run crappy though.

Missed the entire series, just tuned in when fnatic killed C9s base in game 3. Any good games, or all games as one-sided?

Haha production working hard to lessen the blow NA just ate, have to show replay from the game C9 won hähää

Their current skill level is complete mystery to me so should be interesting. Everyone that has scrimmed them before worlds has hyped them. They went 10-0 against IG reportedly. I can't remember, is IG at worlds? I know that this is some kind of a dig but after OMG's performance in groups dismissing iG like that is pretty nuts. iG is damn good and the fact that they aren't at worlds should be evidence to how strong China's scene is.
LPL was full of parity like EU, but I'm not sure how teams like EG would have done at worlds either. I'd be more impressed with a 10-0 against someone like OMG or Royal considering those teams are actually in attendance.

I was surprised by how fnatic was able to exploit lemon's obvious warding patterns and none of the NA teams could. I think it's less about better competition and more about different styles. NA teams player super passive and slow. Only really Vulcun has a faster paced early game but have terrible decision making past that point.
That's exactly what I mean. From what the casters have been saying, that proactive, faster paced teams are more likely to win, and seeing that with my owns eyes in the worlds, I feel like if a solid, quick witted team was introduced in the NA region, their playstyle would gradually grow out of the slow, capitalize-the-opponents-mistake type of games.

After watching this series with fnatic, it seems NA is in deep trouble in terms of talent and skill compared to europe and asia.
Maybe, NA team should travel to korea and train? Seems like it helps with sc2 players like scarlett and naniwa. Game 3 doesn't mean much though since that double kill at lvl 1 was so brutal. Level 1 doesn't somehow escape the scape of the game, it's not just luck and doesn't just "happen". Of course it counts fully. I just don't get why people are so focused on this game 3 thing. Fnatic did the exact same thing against Vulcun and lost horribly. Zuna beat them because of a bad level 1 - that's how much it puts you behind. Exactly this. If you want to say Fnatic legitimately outplayed C9 that game and that it wasn't based around the level 1 then you have to accept the fact that Fnatic lost to Vulcan. Yes, the same vulcan that lost a 6k gold lead against Gambit at 20 minutes. I'm not sure what you've been reading but I for one haven't seen people saying that Fnatic is undefeated in this tournament Vulcan 1-1 with fnatic. Confirmed vulcan is just as good as fnatic

Probably because that wasn't game 3? They wanted to show a team fight that could have gone either way.

The clip they showed just demonstrated why Hai needed hourglass because he kept getting caught after using his playful trickster for farming.

Expession pls OT: NA's lack of strategic depth really hurt them I think. You can only do so much as C9 when you practice against teams with no plans/coordination beyond the early midgame.
C9 has a small tendency to throw level ones which will lose them games against teams who know how to maintain their lead. C9 has a VERY good mid game but Fnatic just didn't allow them to come back with a good dragon fight by simply split pushing and getting picks.

C9 was pretty far ahead of that time.

wussleeQ called you out because it sounds like you're saying Ballz thought, "If I die now I'm not giving first blood, so it's okay." That doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

I'd rather them be money laundering with their beautiful streaming platform than someone else. It's going to happen either way :D

How do you figure? The first game was quite close, the second game they won, and the third was lost to lvl 1 double kill. I guess I'll go sit in my delusional little corner you awesome european, you. lol lost to double kill lee that failed invade after, no wonder usa is so shit in lol if you actually think like that :O You're funny, but I'm not quite sure that it is intentional. that seems like a solid argument, as good as finding retarded excuses for every na loss :O When did I come up with an excuse as to why NA lost? Fuck man. You're making shit up now. Clearly Fnatic is the better team.. they WON. Not to mention there's no shame in losing to the #1 team from group B who also 2-0'd SSO. All I have said so far is that the series itself (2-1) was pretty damn close until game 3. I was talking about all the games, not just the first 2. Even after the first sure, I wasn't sure if Fnatic is much better than C9, I had to see the third one, to realize yes, they are better, and right now ,they would beat C9 in any BoX.
I don't think anyone doubts that after game 2, it looked quite close.
