They're the most decorated team in the history of Korean LoL, and again made it to the ro4 in the most competitive LoL tournament only to be knocked out by blaze, who just might be the best in the world right now. They're still in a great position to make it to world's, and to even suggest that they're in crisis shows the amount of high expectations people have on them. Frost has maintained relevancy throughout the years in this ever-changing game while keeping the core of the team intact. Blaze vs frost came down to mainly the difference in skill between the two mid players, but you can't really blame rapidstar because who else is really better than ambition? Arguably only faker is even comparable. Do you change your mid player for that? I don't know if its really worth risking ruining your team chemistry by switching players. I really dislike how trigger happy and cut throat KT seem to be and I don't think it really breeds success. This is a team game after all - and I'm really impressed with how onair's been managing this. CJ Entus Frost has been ever present in the League of Legends scene in Korea, and I'm certainly not the one to decide which direction CJ Entus Frost should take for the future. However, there definately is a distinct limitation to the team that has not been resolved for quite some time, and will hurt the team more and more as the competition becomes more fierce. There definately is a problem here. The mediocre performance we saw in the round of four was a merely symptom of the root core of the problem as far as I am concerned. I mean, just think about the general feeling you could relate to the CJ Entus Frost team. 1) Being a clutch team: It is not the first, nor the last time, I've heard that CJ Entus Frost has been doing not so hot during scrims. There is a limit to how much you can "bring it" in a competition if you are not that great in the first place. 2) Good team fighting: CJ Entus Frost still possesses one of the best team fighting co-ordination in the world. However, the importance of good team fighting has been decreased somewhat since the metagame has progressed. Early game execution is vital here, and since the two versus one lane swaps, the importance of the laning strength of the mid-laner has been increased dramatically. RapidStar still is a good player, but I need to ask you, is it really just Ambition he is outclassed by? What separates RapidStar from the likes of Dade, SuNo, Easyhoon, and Ssong? Not much at all in my opinion. 3) CloudTemplar's retro-style of jungling: CloudTemplar simply is not good at jungling in an era where your execution of two versus two lanes, after a two versus one swap has been created, is vital to the team's success. He has really poor knowledge of trading, and seems to be stuck to a defunct style that was last useful back when he was a top jungler in a traditional laning setting of two-versus-two bottom lane, and one-versus-one top lane. 4) A bottom lane that loses to Cpt Jack and Lustboy: Deft, Piglet, and Imp all creamed Cpt Jack during the laning phase. I don't think the bottom lane partnership of Hermes and MadLife has much potential at all, and believe that the partnership of Space and Muse to be much more solid. However, since MadLife plays such a vital part in the team outside of his role as a mere support player for Hermes, CJ Entus Frost had to sacrifice their laning strength for the playmaking ability of MadLife. So what are we left with here during the laning phase? Shy? Exactly what differentiates CJ Entus Frost from a team like Najin Shield during the early laning phase for example? There's probably more I could list, but here's a team that relies too much on the factors that made them a successful team back when the scene was very different. Of course, despite the problems I've listed, CJ Entus Frost still has strengths boasted by only a few, but at the same time, have crippling limitations that can, and will be abused by other high level teams as time goes by. I'll sit and wait for the team to resolve these issues, but until then, I can't help but feel this is a team in crisis.

I know he got caught out a couple a game up easy kills against MVP, but I never felt like he was the player that was bringing the rest of KT B down. Also the KT A roster is still a head scrather. Makoon must have made out like a fucking bandit. Rumours has it that the core of KT Rolster B players (Score, Mafa, and Ryu) go way back, not just back to the days when they were in StarTale, but back when they were famous players in the Korean version of DoTA, Chaos. It seems that these players are thick as thieves, and with the recent failures KT Rolster B had to go through despite being one of the favourites, the blame was directed at inSec, whose reckless style of play did not sync well with the conservative, methodical approach the core players of KT Rolster B brings to the table. I honestly think that KaKAO does suit the team better, but their inability to incorporate their playstyle to suit inSec's strengths speaks just as much about them, as it does about inSec's failure to bring KT Rolster B to newer heights. I just have this bad feeling that the All Stars Championship will be the highlight of inSec's career.

Surely there are plenty of teams that could use an aggressive, mechanically-gifted jungler? Or do you think KT Rolster won't let him go? It would be absurd to see him benched. On a side note, why are subs affiliated with a specific team, and not with the organisation as a whole? For example, why can Space and Muse sub only for Frost and not Blaze?

Rapidstar underperformed hard against ambition and we should not forget that Ambition is just on fire right now. I cant remember any other game were Rapidstar underperformed that hard. Cloudtempler was never good with offensive Junglers which sucks for him in the current meta. If the meta changes to a more conservative meta Cloudtempler will rise again. I was never a big fan of Hermes and think that Muse and Space have a better synergy but since Madlife is just soo good and is vital for his team. They should look for a better ADC or Hermes needs to train and improve. In my opinion it would be a huge upgrade for Frost if they could sign Insec and CT moves on to a coach position since he has a lot of knowledge about LoL and could help his team to prepare even better strategies. I mean his insight while he casted the allstar events was really really good. @ poster above me Because players need to be affiliated to a team and not a organization. It is a rule of OGN i believe. Edit: I updated OP for 3rd Place and Final match

The jungle buff in the next patch may help a bit, but for now it looks like he's going to have to find a team with a support top like HSGG or Homme if he wants to succeed.

This might be less of a problem with it not being good, and more of a problem that pros even more than solo que players have a tendency not to try something they haven't seen before. Na he needs solo lanes that can win/even lanes. So one of the teams that fit the criteria is blaze but they aren't looking for a jungler. If Insec leaves, my money in on him going to CJ Frost or a new kespa team.

CloudTemplar has been a mess and has really fallen off, and with the rumors of Insec out of the KT house, Frost could be the most desirable place. Another big watching point will be Hermes, maybe the weakest link in Frost's loss to Blaze in the semifinals. With how many times Space and Muse played in the group stages, Hermes might have been overrated when it came to how well he played next to Madlife, the best support in the world. Assuming that Madlife and Hermes play, this could be Hermes' chance to prove that he is good enough to form a battery with Madlife and help Frost win the world championship. Another 0-3/1-3 loss would be devastating to Frost, meaning they would have gone 0-3 to Sword in last years final, 0-3 to Blaze in this season's semifinals and then another heavy loss in the third place match this season to SKT #2. If that happens, they would have been handed large defeats to three teams that very well may take the three Korean sports for the world championship. SKT #2 would also like to bounce back from an upset loss to MVP Ozone in the semifinals, but being a new team and having a lot of inexperienced players, a loss to the most consistent team in League history would not be the end of the world. For Frost, in a way, this is their most important match in a long time. A loss here could be the end of an era where they only had one change, that being Woong leaving on his own regard to become a team owner/coach instead of a player. Shy and Madlife look to be at a level to challenge for the world, but we'll need to see if their teammates are good enough to help them get there in tonight's 3rd place match.
