Even if teams like mMe, Curse, and oRb start challenging the top 3 I don't see how they hope to compete with Asian teams if they never get to play them.
Idk I'd like to see someone like Curse or TSM do what CLG did and stay in Korea for awhile. But I don't see that being possible in S3.
Do you honestly think having the na teams being grinded off in every event they go to is going to make them any better? would you rather make the lol audience in america watch over and over again while the teams they like and cheer for get crushed without any real hope of winning. Thats a sure fast way to get yourself to the sorry state that NA sc2 is at the moment.
Riot has said theres something around having like 9 teams on salery in a pro league format in each region with weekly games or something. thats going to be the best way if any to make the na teams better.
anyone want to talk about sunfire cape? is it a legit item to get for brusier tops? it seems like it'll make phenoix udyr even better although i don't know if its worth delaying the hog and philo end items for it.

Pfew yesterday evening was so stressful, we got 26k viewers on the French stream, highest number for an e-Sport event ever here !
If any TLer watches it, I'd love some feedback ! I did two shoutouts to TL btw, especially to the preview by MoonBear :p

Can somebody please explain something to me regarding the TSM vs Azubu Frost game from yesterday?
In Game 1 AF obviously had a lot of poke with Jayce + Lux, but one thing I noticed that was also to their huge advantage was movement speed. Obviously they had Jayce's acceleration gate, but their jungler (Maokai) also had boots of mobility and Shurelia's.. In fact, I'm pretty sure they had 2 Shurelia's by the end of the game.
Why didn't TSM get an early Shurelia's to match the speed of their opponent? It seems to me on several occasions that at least 1 Shurelia's could've made the game a lot closer, moments where TSM where either being chased or chasing AF after defending their base.
Obviously only TSM can answer why they didn't try to match the speed of AF, but am I the only one thinking this could've made a significant difference to the game?

Losing to better teams helps you improved. Clubbing baby seals doesnt. So yes getting grinded off every event should help them get better.

Thats kind of ambiguous, I'd argue that clubbing baby seals makes you better at clubbing baby seals.

analogies are getting looser and looser folks
In all seriousness, getting grinded at events is good as long as you react to it well. Like how TSM got destroyed by Azubu at MLG; they said "holy fck we have to practice our asses off to be better". Though they weren't able to show it here, they have shown it by being by far the best NA team due to their greater drive. If teams take this is an actual wake up call and change their attitude toward, well, everything, it could help.
On the other hand, if they just write off the losses/don't put enough in even with a salary, then it'll just be a slaughter. of Seals. I guess.

I can attest to this. I've been baited so hard by an eve on a "3v1" towerdive. She lived long enough for the jungler and top to show up and they got a 3 for 1.

I guess they planned for sona to get shurelias eventually. But with TSM not getting much globals and sona not getting that much assists either she didn't get to it. Notice how blitzcrank had aegis + shurelias + hog + boots2 when sona only had hog, philo and boots2. Shyvanna is more of a carry jungler than a support jungler as maokai is, therefore she didn't build into shurelia either (+ philo isn't really a good item for her, too) therefor they just didn't get to the point, they didn't decided against getting shurelias.
I agree tho that shurelias would have been really good vs a poke comp like that, as they almost always did good when they caught AF. Maybe they should have focused more on getting it, i don't know.

Russia is also a part of Asia, or more technically Eurasia.
Anyhow they are good for the game since they can be claimed to be Western.

Sona was trying to build it by the end of the game, but at that time it was too late and their base was basically being raped. I'm glad someone at least agrees with me, because I found it really odd that they didn't try to go for some speed against a lineup like that (poke+speed) but with Dyrus losing top pretty fast I guess they had other things to worry about

I casted the second game of TPA vs Najin yesterday, but I don't really like 3-men casting so it was pretty awkward...
I'll be on once again this evening, I think I'll do one or two games. And I bring the analysis to the table :p

I would argue this shows TSM's inexperience still in dealing with these low-farm situations. When there's not a lot of gold going all around, everybody is going to be far from their next item. You need to prioritize who's next item is going to be highest value to your team, and in some cases that's going to be the support--which means you're going to have to deviate from the plan of giving the support zero farm. Letting Xpecial actually farm lanes to finish Shurelya's could have actually been critical that game, given how even on the gold deficit, TSM were already capable of taking fights that they could engage properly. They needed Shurelya's far more than they needed more superfluous combat items on their carries.

It depends on your job market too. Like I can say with relative certainty that anyone and their mom's dog could get hired as a skilled laborer here in Alberta. Most Fab shops these days accept unticketed walk in off the street applications for Welders, Machinists, Milllwrights, Mechanics etc.
If you have a degree in technology, or even if you just grabbed a diploma you need to like... not look for a job to not get one.

Yea, there definitely was an undervaluing of team items for TSM. Aegis and Shurelya's are pretty much necessary, and I don't think they prioritized either one.
At the same time, other teams have been getting two or even three Aegis, which is almost definitely not a good idea.
