At any point of IEM Season 6 Championship, if you think of an interesting byline, please drop a sentence in the Pro Scene thread. At the end of the month, I'll catalogue the results of Hannover but also any interesting facts or events that happen over the course of the tournament. Thanks. Neo, 06.03.2012 |

Voyboy award is kinda akward after the finals for sure, but he deserves to have this award one day, and at least it's not HSGG again. And he's very probably the best Lee Sin top player worldwide, he just knows this champ so well.
Anyway, I hope we'll get a CLG.eu vs M5 finals next IEM.

I have no problem with him getting the award(although I noted previously that Diamond probably should get it as the keystone of everything m5 does). Any player in M5 deserved it more, because they destroyed all fools, not just in a single match. (clg was close perhaps) If you go for top the best player has been Darien. I'd have given the award to Alex Ich just for picking like a boss

Diamond's Lee was a lot about Pepper's Ali roaming with him. Voy's lee was a 1 man wrecking machine.
I don't want to understate m5's victory and tourney as a whole, but I think people are about 1 inch short of just deep throating them right now because Dignitas couldn't handle their shit at all. CLG had them dead and fucked up, that doesn't mean m5 is on another level it means CLG fucked up and needs to clean their play up that little bit.
Voyboy himself also had nothing to do with d's failures. He played outstanding in every game of the tourney save game2 of this finals where he had a TERRIBLE matchup because his captain decided to not pick Shen.

Yes any pick for M5 would have been fair tbh because all played better then any other team. Then again this is about popularity not actual skill.

I have the feeling that losing in Kiev only made them train harder, but not smarter. The entire team is on tilt almost all the time against equal or better competition. check regi's vlog from this tournament after thye lost, he said they just put in the hours but no thought so it did absolutely nothign but waste time.
Oh yeah, I saw that at a friends house pretty late last night but there was close to a dozen people in a moderately large room so I could barely hear it. Thanks for reminding me to go back and watch it.

You might value it more, but it won't get the crowd more exciting.

No, you aren't
but the vote timing was, as ever with IEM, timed so the flashy plays from semis win this award.

How is Voy not solid, stable and consistent? He was the best top player throughout the entire tourney.

The one thing that M5 has over every NA team, including CLG, is that they are actually consistent. Dunno if it's lack of practice or something but every NA team can just be so incredibly inconsistent. Even yesterday when CLG had advantages both games M5 stayed consistent and took advantage of CLG's fuck ups. Game 2 especially was a game CLG should have never lost but M5's consistency is on an entirely new level compared to the NA scene and honestly most of the EU scene save CLGeu who hasn't played in enough tournaments to really be considered consistent anyways.
I think that's the most scary part of M5 though. They're actually consistent, even if they lose a lane that laner can still come back and be a threat later.

Solid, stable and consistent is what I'd want on my team.... but flashy is what I want to watch :D

It means M5 is 9-0, undefeated in this tournament.
It means they played 17 games at offline events and they won 16 of these.
Stop trying to defend US teams just because you live there.
MVP to Voyboy is a joke and proves once again how biased the NA community actually is.
There is not a single player from M5 who didn't get a 9/10 score in every single game in the tournament, while NA fanboys just went all jizzing about 3 Lee Sin games by Voyboy. It's utterly unreasonable to MVP him for that.

M5 never let Dignitas get in the game, now that's real class, not just being better but outpicking your competition and breaking them down with better play aswell.

Awesome tournament, some REALLY nice games and plays and we broke another viewer record \o/
big expectations for the next event.
|
Dont forget that Voy wrecked lower skilled teams with his lee, while Diamond's Lee wrecked them in the finals. I mean the finals were quite brutal, not at a single point in time were Dignitas ahead like CLG was. To be fair, the most dominant win from M5 in this tournament came against Dignitas in the finals, especially that game 2. Darien utterly destroyed Voy on top there, even with all those shivana ganks, while udyr didnt come once. MVP is someone who played brilliantly throughout the whole tournament, not someone who had few awesome games on 1 champ and then choked in the finals and got obliterated.

Im still waiting for a clg.eu vs m5 on lan, I mean clg.eu have proved themselves stronger than almost any other team online, and while a lan scenario is different, you do not become one of the top eu teams, and by top i mean they consistently beat fnatic and sk, and from what ive observed the only real competition has been aaa and m5 to them. I personally believe they will prove to be more than a match to m5, but we can only wait and watch i suppose.

M5 has zero fanbase in NA and EU... probably only russians voted for them
