At any point of IEM Kiev, if you think of an interesting byline, please drop a sentence in the Pro Scene thread. (e.g. "Day 2: M5 hype was everything people expected") At the end of the month, I'll catalogue the results of Kiev but also any interesting facts or events that happen over the course of the tournament. Thanks. Neo, 20.1.2012 |

You priortize based on the situation, it's exactly the same with every other jungle. Shyvanna has more effective counter jungle and less effective ganks so her priorties shift accordingly. Especially against a ganking jungler which increases the probability they'll have camps up and also that they'll be lower level and easy to bully out if you meet them in the jungle.
That said, farming your jungle will sometimes take priority as well. Darien had very good control over top lane and mid was feeding which helped invade the red side jungle. He only went into the blue side jungle when he had oracles and ward control there.

The interview was awesome, too. Alex seems like a really cool/nice guy with alot of knowledge not only about the game but also about the competition both EU and US. Ditto. I have somewhat mixed feelings about M5's manner wards though. And there's hearsay about M5 trashtalking other teams (both NA and EU) after scrims. :<<<< I find it so retarded that people would shittalk after scrims lol. Like, it's completely just practice for both your team's benefits and what do you do besides lose a practice partner? Scrims shouldn't be for competitive reasons.

Thanks guys! I was afraid my questions would be too technical, so I threw in the TSM flame-bait (didn't go for it. Good guy Alex) and the "do a shoutout in Russian".
I'm super excited about this team. So happy the hype wasn't premature. That scarra snipe over the cliff, I almost fell of my chair.
M5 - Sypher next. Uhm. I just gave lounet my condolences ;P Honestly, I do not think Sypher have any chance at all (I'd never say this on stream, but there it is). I'll do Dig - aAa after, probably deciding the second place in the group.
EDIT to add: we'll keep doing interviews as long as the games are this quick. Post here if you got questions and we'll try to work them in (provided we see the questions in time)

M5 seems to only respect mTl.tt and CLGeu as teams, maybe aAa too seing as they got destroyed in the go4lol. Not too surprised about that since only CLGeu has given them proper trouble.

Just different mentality.

I felt like the 2nd dragon, where Kennen left top lane open to Irelia w/o securing the drake in exchange, was another point too. With Swain so bullied (and no wards wtf) they'd need other lanes to pull out, and Voyboy lost his lead (even ended up behind in cs) for no gain. It even lead to his tower falling a lot earlier I believe.

I understand it is boring to watch the whole groupstage in one sitting like this but there are a ton of people from other timezones that are tuning in for particular matches and they appreciate that the matches are starting on time. Do the best, play a game while waiting for the next round...

Mistral are one of the best teams from EUNE, now competing on EUW. You'll be able to see them in action in the King of Europe tournament coming up end of January (which I may or may not co-commentate with Deman) They're proper scary as well.

mtl's a strong upcoming euro team; i've only seen one streamer for 10winstreak that plays with us for that!

Also it has to be said games are REALLY fast this tournament so far. Got to make a schedule that can deal with 70 minute games and delays, but once you have a schedule you can't fast forward.

Can't wait to see M5 vs TSM (assuming M5 crushes their grp).. Real trashtalk if TSM wins.

Lithuanian team.
mTl.tt is probably the 3rd or 4th strongest team at the moment in EUW, it's composed of Angush, Svenskern, extinct, Prepared and Sleeper.
Angush is the only top laner in the game that has consistently given wickd trouble and has beaten him several times (it's about even right now). The unique thing about mTl.tt is that they run a battle botlane which is according to krepo (clgeu's support) "retarded as hell to lane against". They're very strong.

Diamond proc profile: Solo Q, 2355, #3 on EU. Champs played in ranked season 2: Lee sin, 92-33, 73.6% win Udyr, 39,16, 70.9% win Xin Zhao, 24-8, 75% win Trundle, 22-6, 78.6% win Nocturne, 18-8, 69.2% win Shyvana, 18-5 78.3% win Skarner, 16-7, 69.8% win Maokai, 10-5, 66.6% win
His shaco/rammus etc win rates are lower but he doesn't play them that much. Seems to sometimes play solo top as well. Masteries: Looks like 9/21/0, could be another jungle tho. Shyvana rune pages: "drakon" armour yellows, attack speed blues, ad quints, ad reds.
Interesting he doesn't use move quints. He uses the same page as me on udyr though (medved = bear in russian)

Battle botlane... is that someone like Goose's Jarvan/Leona combo? Round off (your) current top 3 please?
Thanks for your answers, dooraven.

The AS blues means he favours early game speed over mid/late strength on shyvana. The rush to razors and stealing buffs points to the same thing. Wriggles isn't that amazing on shyvana except for speed on buff camps and dragon which aren't as hard in new jungle but it looks like he really likes to take them down fast.
He was going wriggles/mercs/phage/wits FYI, in match history his last build finished the wits.
There's no out banning this guy. He can play around 5 jungles at world class level it seems. Another 5 or so that don't get played any more. He doesn't play rammus though. He doesn't like the gank dependent junglers that much, not a big fan of tree either.
