At any point of IEM Kiev, if you think of an interesting byline, please drop a sentence in the Pro Scene thread. (e.g. "Day 2: M5 hype was everything people expected")

At the end of the month, I'll catalogue the results of Kiev but also any interesting facts or events that happen over the course of the tournament.

Thanks.

Hmm. Should be TSM & Curse out of group A, Dig and M5 out of group B. Although I have very little faith in post Jatt Dig at the moment, and CRS is always liable to blow up all over the place randomly.

The other teams just dont seem as strong atm, especially considering that SK and Sypher are completely new teams from the ones that have past experience at IEM.

Your 2nd point should apply more to Crs than to Sypher. Sypher made two changes to their lineup since NYC, arguably for the better: a new AP mid (ALth0r went to aAa) and a new jungler.

It is my understanding thta this is an entirely new Sypher team. The old one is now with TT and this is a completely new group.

And to everyone bashing my non inclusion of aAa. They were a MESS in the tourneys they actually made last year. You really expect me to put them over the 4th best NA team? Once again, there are 2 EU teams that have proven they can actually beat American teams. Fnatic and SK. Sk no longer exists, and Fnatic didnt make the tournament.

And if you say "oh look at these scrims" I am just going to start laughing.

Sypher is actually sending their old players to Kiev. The players agreed to play this tournament with their old team in order to not lose the spot in the tournament. Not 100% sure about the exact terms on which they play but this IS the Sypher we got to know in NYC (with new AP Mid and Jungle).

Regarding aAa: I see where you are coming from. Then again you probably didn't watch any of the EU qualification or any of the recent EU Go4LoL tournaments so you base your statement on a somewhat washed up version of aAa/Millenium that we got to see at gamescom and in China. This team is more on a "aAa at Dreamhack" kind of level I believe and there they finished 2nd behind fnatic, beating the US teams.

Looks like Curse will have to play without nyjacky at Kiev. He's stuck in Shanghai because his visa application wasn't filled out properly and he can't fly to Ukraine from China with just his passport.

No, he posted on the forums somewhere that he was going to do a 12 weeks with the pros for league of legends. I believe that he also stated that the first show was going to be from iem kiev, so I'm pretty sure that's what it's referring to.

Given that sk lost their jungle (most valuable role) and top, yes, I would argue that they would have had a shot.

Just wanted to say "thanks" for the thread. I couldn't find the schedule for this tournament anywhere on the IEM Kiev website. It's fucking ridiculous how difficult it can be to find LoL tourny info sometimes. Gogo TL!

Hey dudes! I'm in Kiev now. The venu is pretty unreal. If you got any questions for players let me know and I'll try to hunt em down.

No predictions from me other than it's going to be a sick tournament.

Only questions that I have are for the teams jungles re the new jungle. I'm just interested to see if the general consensus of "crappy but playable" is still prevalent.

Also, Shawn or Daniel might know this, but the games start at 6 AM EST- what is the replay system/rebroadcast gonna be so I can actually watch the games?

I'd say they have the top 4 wrong.

aAa and Sypher have a VERY strong chance of getting out of group stages, whereas SK seems kinda weak, and M5 does so much crazy thing they might as well lose. The american teams look scary, but I'm not sure Dignitas can make it out of their group.
