I played it on hard with whirlwind zealots and dragoons, got all achievements easy. I will try it on brutal again as soon as I manage to do mission 3 on brutal...

Interesting, I was going to ask about dragoons

I failed with dragoons miserably. BUT! I don't have any problems with stalkers, I found them OP as hell. Their shield regen after blink is so damn OP and dragoons just die :/ What am I doing wrong? I would like to use dragoons but I find them weak

I didn't check the stats, but it felt like dragoons have a higher range? They do a lot more damage (like double? compared to stalkers), but the fire rate is lower. Also, their model takes up a lot of space.

In any case, I was constantly warping in zealots to shield the goons. The main problem is that there isn't a lot of space, so I often stutter stepped into fights to make sure all Dragoons could fire. Luckily, their fire rate is so low that it doesn't take a lot of skill to stutter step effectively.

I also used the aeduns air bombing attack on siege tanks and bunkers to make it easier.

Again, that was on hard, it's very well possible that it's not a feasible strategy on brutal, seeing as the difference between hard and brutal is quite big (Mission 3 on hard was a walk in the park, on brutal it's.... well, brutal).

I used stalker dts to win on brutal to snipe all the detection with a lot of help with spear of adun. I originally tried just making a basic army but man I got destroyed.

Yeah this was one of the harder missions.
Also I used stalkers with the shield regen. I feel like it's a lot more fun and dragoons are so clunky. Idk how good they are :/

Stalkers are one of the best units in campaign, you can keep them alive for so long with blink micro, can snipe key units/structures very easily and you can even offensively blink onto super strong armies with the Spear of Adun's barrier ability.

Stalks are more mobile/flexible, drags are more bulky

wow is the "Mastery" achievement even possible on this?? I am POSITIVE I destroyed three of the stabilizers within 80 seconds on brutal (I used DTs to slowly chip away the bottom one, while putting up forces outside the top left 2 - at 0:03 seconds I kill the DT one and rush the other 2, using the timer to watch) - It doesnt give me the achievement though..

It can't possible mean the very first one has to be within the 3 does it? That would be sooo difficult. Dragoons were too slow to do this achievement so I think Stalkers are better, although I did the above with dragoons/dts.

ah finally got it.. Re-did the mission and for some reason it worked this time. maybe its cause I loaded from a save before? Either way, that was hard!

What did you do? I have done this mission 4 times for the mastery achievement both on brutal and hard and have done the time calculations based on right before i destroy it so i have some cushion for when its destroyed and I am still not getting the achievement. its starting to get annoying.

make a forward pylon on the little cliff bottom of first stabilizer to warp 2 dts past the bunker. Once you have two dts there, use the auto-pylon on the little ledge before the thor, your two dts kill the 4 helions that come. Once they kill them and regen shields, sneak the dts around the left side right into the middle of the stabilizer and use the calldown blasts to take out the turret. Now warp in 2 more dts, sneak around and destroy the remaining units (this works even on brutal, but you want to be in hard for the mastery)

I leave one unit alive until 0:03 seconds before killing it with the DT. While doing that, I'm building up two small armies of stalkers and dts near the top left, ready to attack both the top left stabilizers at the same time. Use the calldown thing again on whichever one you have less forces on, take out the bunkers. Takes some hard micro, blink sniping the tank while splitting your units from the hunter-seeker missles.. but you should be able to get it within 80 seconds.
