We had almost the exact same split-push meta once, or maybe more than once, and no one even looked at Lux then. Popularity of certain mid laners is often put in correlation with the state of the assassins, but Lux was nowhere when assassins dominated, and still nowhere when they all got nerfed. The biggest changes in the pre-season were for marksmen (which should have zero impact on Lux's popularity), increasing the cost of every ap item (which affected every non-ad midlaner), the introduction of the Rift Herald (again, irrelevant in her case) and the fuckery with the death timers (affects everyone) and turret hp. Yes, the latter does make lane control midlaners more preferable, but as I said, we've seen this meta before. I'm just "triggered" every time a champion without any changes breaks into competitive play, and everyone is an expert why is it ""obvious"" he or she is in the meta AFTER it already happened. Reminds me of the likes of Xerath or Zilean, which came from soloq and within a week they were pick/ban worthy in almost every region. Then suddenly every people became an analyst: "oh yeah, he has great waveclear, makes perfect sense!!" - please, if those people were asked 2 weeks earlier about why those champs were not played competitively, the average answer would've been "lel cuz they suck XDD lcs is not soloq bro". Whatever, rant over - I know it is an unbreakable cycle, but had to get it off my chest. | ||

Making marksmen stronger and more important helps since, even if she's not an assassin, she can 100-0 them whenever she hits a binding. Even better when you've got two of them per game since that's even more opportunities to be impactful. The focus is on objectives, which helps control mages like her, since she's strong both at zone control and at poking (compare to Orianna, good zone control, but not much range to poke). She sieges very well, pushes rather fast and safely, and if need be can ult to nuke a wave and stall splitpush. Just because she wasn't the best fit in the meta or the most popular champion doesn't mean she wasn't super strong in a vacuum. But she hasn't had dominant periods so pros wouldn't consider her as easily (they'll detect a meta switch favoring Zed, Ahri or Azir much faster, and will be more willing to act upon it too), and she somehow had the stigmata of being "low damage" for so long. | ||

E slow radius is larger 300 => 350 You can re-cast E on flight to immediately detonate on arrival Her Q got slight mana buffs 50/60/70/80/90 mana ⇒ 50/55/60/65/70 mana + it deals 100% damage and root to the secondary target as well They fixed bug with her ult/passive where triggering Illumination with Final Spark didn't add Illumination's AP ratio to the detonation | ||
