To be fair, the idea of overpaying for solid talent that is a shoe-in to get a spot in LCS while at the same time as not spending as much as it takes to buy a spot is a solid one.

Sure that makes sense but they didn't do that at all. Sounds like some guy pitched them his plan then they just went with him regardless of merit. Whoever got the funding must be one smooth talker.

Not solid at all because there is no such thing as a shoe-in for LCS. You can not guarantee competetive success in League just with money and a roster that is good on paper as many examples in the past have shown. And Ember roster was not even as good on paper as others that failed in the past. From what I have seen outside observers did not see Ember as an LCS shoe-in at all. I would have estimated their chances at maybe 20% if I am generous (50% to make it to promotion, 40% to win promotion vs LCS team).

In two years, it'll be on par with the NHL - Rick Fox Source: http://www.thescoreesports.com/news/6868 And where exactly would that growth rate come from? LOL hasn't been growing in temrs of viewership for a few years. CS:GO seems to have stabilized over the last 6-10 months. Same with Dota. And I don't see any new game coming out soon that is gonna make the market absolute explode. And with regards to the absolute size of the esport-industry, it's pretty overrated. I hear the "more people watched the LOL worlds final than NBA" over and over in different medias. And it's the most wrong and manipulated number I have ever seen. First of, that number is comparing NBA US viewership to LOL viewership. Secondly it is comparing unique viewership to average viewernumbers. Thirdly, it includes millions and millions of Chinese viewbots. So no, esports is not even close to the major traditional sports. Give it 15-25 years and we can reopen the discussion. "It's in that conversation now, it's fifth right now. We're in fifth place, it's coming," Fox replied. Acting like the stereotypical American where only the sports that America watches are popular sports. Because there are many more popular sports than just NHL, NBA, NFL and MLS. If you exclude viewership from sports in Asia and Europe, then you should also exclude esport viewership numbers from non US countries as well. Tabletennis finals in China generates 190M unique viewers. And if you exclude Chinese viewbots from LOL worlds viewership, more ppl in Denmark watch the national team play handball than the global amount of people watching LOL finals.

If only people stopped trying to make others who don't give a shit about esports take them seriously they would start doing so in a year tops. It is exactly the same as those religious retards who knock on your door.

It's really nice to read another League/SC pro connection like that. I remember in a recent Flash interview he said that he thought Ssumday didn't like him because he would always avoid Flash in the team house, but he was just shy. Must admit, I wouldn't mind seeing a Flash/Ssumday v Jaedong/Crown 2v2 BW match.

Article now surfacing about H2K's sale back in December. Ok, so the sale went through even without Svenskeren. Also, Richard Lippe is one of the investors. Wasn't it him, or his firm, that sent that letter to Regi back during the Svenskeren stuff?
