Welcome to this patch's General Discussion thread for the League of Legends subforum. This thread is for discussion around League of Legends. Free feel to talk about anything LoL related here that does not already have its own thread. While posting standards tend to be rather lax in this thread, pointless spam will not be tolerated.
Gameplay discussion should go in the Gameplay Discussion thread. Gameplay discussion includes, but is not exclusive to: - Runes and masteries
- Item builds
- Jungle paths
- Playstyle and skill order for new/updated champions
Non-League of Legends discussion should go in the LiquidLegends Lounge.
Certain topics are blacklisted from LoL General Discussion and they include:- "Elo hell"

The homeguard change is.... interesting

I thought the homeguard rush nerf and the minion changes had been canceled. How disappointing.

I feel there must be better ways to stop the "issues" wave manipulation gives. I guess they want to stop people getting deep frozen on after a 2v1 and towers taken. This is seen as bad as it is not flashy and can lead to teams falling far behind with not much happening.
Off the top of my head maybe you could decrease dragon timer. It would keep the object "up" more and give more frequent team fights around dragon. We also have rift herald now as another objective to take all together. We don't know how that will effect the competitive scene. If you have that buff maybe you can shove down mid much earlier give yourself an option to play yourself out of these choke scenarios.
Overall it seems like lol to changing to be a new game from what it originally was.

the main result of the minion changes is that the losing team has an easier time freezing and thus is more likely to make a comeback if they can hold for long enough

Yeah after playing a good amount in preseason, feels like whoever wins top and jung matchup wins the game. They get so fucking far ahead in levels that they both outdamage you and are tankier.

Not really. The only reason top snowballs is because of rageblade otherwise ad is the only role that really shits on kids. Shiv+cannon is just retarded.

Except everyone? Obviously on others not as first item but otherwise pretty much all of the ads.

This is why, of the current top 10 winrate champions, there's only 1 ADC and only 2 champs who use Rageblade, right.
The other 7 are 3 Mages who use DFT really well, 3 Tanks, and for some reason Velkoz?

Thats cause there are 2 rageblades and 2 ads in every game obviously

There is a difference between someone snowballing hard and actually winning the game. Read my comment again.
Tanks don't really get THAT ahead. Obviously there are exceptions but it is rare.
