As a general thesis statement, Brand did/does stupid damage, has great zone control, and has CC. -Passive does damage and burns stacks, super good for harass -Great base damage, blows up enemy squishies -All you need is mpen -Excels at zone control, opponents have to play around your W -Can easily turn around ganks by just dumping damage -Long stun, easy to use (we def disagreed on this) -Great with Zeke's
I'm not saying the buffs didn't have any effect-- Brand went from being a underrated pick (when he was admittedly somewhat weaker) to being kinda fotm with better itemization and other indirect buffs. My main point is the perceived increase in his strength doesn't match the actual increase in his strength.
By looking at masteries, I mean I haven't played any games with support Brand or Ketara'd the math and done any specific min/maxing. Masteries being stronger/ more valuable helps the role with least gold (the support) the most proportionally. I think a 18/0/12 + mpen page would work fine. I used to take mana regen runes but new FQC means I could probs ditch that.
If the dude who played support brand hadn't had a complete shit build (he tried to rush Rylai's or something iirc) and shit game I'll bet his playrate would have shot up and the champ/role would have gotten a solid look.
Riot's already nerfing him because of the mastery specifically. Well, they're also nerfing Swain, because of the interaction between the mastery and DoTs. And yes, they said just a couple weeks ago about Warlord's Bloodlust that they wouldn't nerf champs (Tryndamere and Yasuo) when the mastery is at fault and should be looked at instead. Don't ask them for consistency.
Actually rushing rylai is what everyone does and it works really well exactly because of the increased gold gain. After fqc ofc that item is just broken.
If you're Brand, I've no idea why you wouldn't get the absolutely insane DFT. Precision is great and all, but DFT is absolutely punishing on DoT champs.
DFT was a terrible idea, Riot. And I love Brand and DoT champs in general. That shit is insane.

What's your source for those incoming nerfs on Brand and Swain? I don't remember seeing anything about them on the PBE.

Brand Pillar of Flame (W) mana cost increased to 70/80/90/100/110 from 70/75/80/85/90
Swain Nevermove (W) root duration reduced to 1/1.3/1.5/1.8/2 seconds from 2 at all ranks
Tfw a person on the enemy team starts int feeding cuz he feels bad for you and the int feeders on your team. You should turn on gross gore stream for some laughs.
This has got to be the greatest League video of all time.
A great showpiece on "Why you want to have an actual ADC".
adc is needed to siege towers but they already had naked nexus so i dont see how its an showpiece of anything, besides technically trynd is an adc and damn good one at killing structures

To tell you the truth I think that at bronze and silver level 5 random champions will have equal chances to beat meta composition, meaning that for example garen, darius, braum, panteon and lets say fiora have 50/50 chance to beat something with dedicated top, mid, jungle, adc and support.

At the same time I'd trust a team to play with a traditional set up they might somewhat understand as opposed to going full soloq.
One thing that always fascinated me about MOBA's in general is how late into a "career" on them you have to wait until you see dedicated team work. It always seems you have to go 2 or 3 tiers in before you see folks use constant team work for most matches.

because the other team won when a tristana just went ahead and soloed their nexus.
blue didnt lose because they didnt have an adc. red just won (from extremely behind) because they had one.
